Can you improve your school categories?

Is there anyway to improve things like Campus Lifestyle, Athletic Facilities or Academic Prestige or are those all set?

Also, does just winning raise the other categories? TV exposure, tradition, etc? Just started a 1* and my highest rating is a C+ so I've got a lot of work to do.

Winning will increase a lot of things, but some things are set. Academic Prestige and Campus Lifestyle will never change. I have yet to see Coach Experience/Prestige change, even when taking a C rated coach to multiple Bowl games, but maybe it just takes a while. Athletic Facilities will increase by a half letter grade (i.e. B to B+) for every season that your school prestige increases (complete all your season goals).

I may be wrong on this but I think Academic Prestige can go up if you graduate most of your players instead of having them leave when they are juniors.

Academic prestige can definitely change, I had a dynasty with Arkansas St. and went from like a D Academic Prestige to a C+.

I may be wrong on this but I think Academic Prestige can go up if you graduate most of your players instead of having them leave when they are juniors.

I have only had a one players leave early and my Academic Prestige is still the same

Like I said I may be wrong but it also could take multiple seasons and not just one.

Coach experience does change, but I am not sure on the triggers. In my initial start up dynasty as the Terps I had a successful season winning the ACC championship and the sugar bowl against Florida and my coach experience stayed. In my current dynasty I went 9-5 loosing to Miami in th eACCCG and lost to SMU (sigh) in my bowl game yet experience went to an A.

Prestige goes up and down depending on your promises methinks. Make and keep a lot of promises and prestige goes up. Fail promises and it goes down. Not make promises and it stays the same.

I started an offline dynasty with Middle Tenn State (1 Star) on heisman difficulty. After about 5 seasons (I got them at 5 stars), and continuous success, all of my categories went up. Most of my categories were C's or D+'s when I started out. However, I won two conference championships, 2 bowl games (Papa Johns/New Orleans Bowl), and have a overall record of around 42-11.

Now the majority of my ratings are in the B+ to C+ range. It simply takes time and success, which is the greatest aspect of this game IMHO.

Playing a dynasty with Miami (OH) 69-1 through 5 seasons with 2 national championships. Academic Prestiege, which started as B+, has fluctated to an A. Coach Prestiege is up from C to B+, and experience up to a B. Exposure and tradition have increased with winning and achieving goals, as has fan base albeit those 3 have been slower. Lifestyle has yet to change.

Television Exposure: Depends on what conference your in.

Campus Lifestyle: Unchangeable.

Tradition: Unchangeable.

Championship Contender: Changes after you win multiple bowl games, BCS bowls are a big boost.

Fan Base: Changes after having consecutive winning seasons.

Coach Prestige: Changes slowly after having consecutive winning seasons and bowl game titles.

Tradition is changeable. Not sure why but my tradition went from a C+to a B after year one.

Fan Base does not need consecutive winning seasons. In my dynasty it went from a B to a B+ after the first year.

And finally coach experience does change.

I'm questioning the accuracy of a lot of this...

Academic Prestige definitely can change, although I believe it's random.


Television Exposure based on your conferece...well, maybe partially. Like, if you get in the SEC, obviously you get a huge boost here...but is that solely because you're in the SEC or is it because you'll be playing a lot of ranked teams on national TV all the time?
I was under the impression that TV Exposure was (or at least it should be) based on the TV audience. It keeps track of your record on regional and national TV. More wins on national TV should be a boost, wins on regional TV should be a boost too. Heck, just being on either should be a boost to your TV exposure (because even if you go 0-12, if you're on national TV EVERY WEEK [like Notre Dame who in real life is always nationally televised regardless of how they're performing] your TV exposure should be good).

Program Tradition - This is definitely changeable. I imagine it's based on trophies and awards you bring in for the program. Some sort of collective rating loosely based on players of the week, pre and post season all-conference/American, post-season awards, conference championships, national championships, BCS bowl wins, bowl wins, January bowl wins, bowl appearances, winning record, etc. etc.

I don't know for sure whether or not Coach Experience is changeable (though I'm pretty sure it is), but consider this...

D, D+, C, C+, B, B+, A, A+, that's 8 different levels of coach experience. You can play a dynasty for 60 years.

If you started as a D coach experience and got a bump for every FIVE years, you'd be D+ for years 6-10, C for 11-15, C+ for 16-20, B for 21-25, B+ for 26-30, A for 31-35, and the last 25 years of the dynasty, you'd have A+ coach experience.

Now, I'm not saying that it bumps up every five years, or every X amount of years... all I'm saying is that it may be that for the most part people aren't playing enough years yet to truly know how coach experience changes.


Also, there's unquestionably a degree of randomness to all of this. I played in an Online Dynasty in the Big East. I went 11-2, 6-1 in conference, winning the conference and finishing the season ranked 17th in the country after beating Oklahoma State in the Fiesta Bowl. My friend went 9-4, 5-2 in conference, did not finish in the top 25, and beat some lower conference school in the Emerald Bowl. I played 8 games on TV, he played 6.

His TV exposure and Championship contender, which were already higher than mine, both got a bump, whereas mine stayed still.

So the only thing that hasn't changed is Campus Lifestyle and Conference Prestige.

Obviously you can change conference prestige if you go to another conference.

I would be interested in seeing though whether the conferences are all locked into their prestige rating... or if you could improve conference prestige somehow. For instance, if you took a bunch of 6-star programs and put them into the Sun Belt, does their conference prestige improve?

Or, without custom conferences, if all the teams in a conference collectively improve their prestige rating and/or win OOC/Bowl/National championship games, does conference prestige improve?

Everything changes...except for Academic Prestige and Campus Lifestyle.
