How do people do this move online?

I played against a guy, a cheeser no less, last night where before the snap when he was on defense, he somehow moved all of his defense to like the middle of the field. Then it's like they sort of went back to their positions when I snapped it.

Now I know how to move the d-line presnap, and the LB's., but this seemed different and it also seemed different from the Show Blitz.

Is there some presnap audible that does this?

Pre-Snap have everyone blitz than move back to coverage.

I don't know if it is a glitch or made for design, but I did this with my DE for South Carolina in a game vs WVU (or more like, the Devines). I had a good read presnap so I just audibled the DE to QB Read and he immediately strafed towards the sideline and sat in the middle of the gap awaiting the option/QB rollout. I stuffed the play for 2 yard loss.

yeah the guy last night used A&M, it didn't dawn on me until the game was loading that he was gonna use Jarrod Johnson. I shut it down for the most part, but it was cheese b/c he'd get a 3rd and 29 and take off rnning to the outside for the first down.

...you let a QB run for 30 yards?

It's pretty easy to do when you have a speedy QB, and all the receiver are hot routed into hail mary's. There's no one in the middle of the field.

Plus this guy didn't run properly. Instead of using the right stick or spin moves or anything thing. He would just jerk the L-stick in extreme unnatural directions, and if you know how to cheese that way, you can avoid tackles.

Fortunately, the game knew he was cheesing b/c he got called for more holding penalties than i can remember.

You pull left trigger and press down on the right stick moves your whole D in, up out, and left and right as you'd expect.

How can you jerk the L-Stick in extreme, unnatural directions, exactly?

I've run into some people who just push the L stick in random directions which makes the players do the same. For some reason even though this is strategically a poor move the CPU seems to miss guys randomly when they do this.

Every heard of QB Spies, or zone coverage? Shuts down running QBs pretty quickly. Don't call it cheese just because you failed to stop it. It's one thing if hes sprinting 30 yards diagonally backwards to the right and throws a 40 yard bomb to the left across his body...but how is running into an open running lane cheese? I guess Vince Young was the ultimate cheeser back when he played at Texas...

And as for "jerking" the analog stick to avoid tackles...please explain how that's cheesing lol. I'd love to see a replay of this "unnatural" running.

Yes, I used QB spies...but you cant run that the entire game. Sometimes you have to get into a better pass defense as one would think on 3rd and forever.

And he was completely cheesing b/c he went for it on 4th & 27 in the 1st quarter, then when i finally got 1 score lead before halftime, he tried to onside kick me right after halftime. I called a timeout to change into onside kick formation, then he kicks it deep. The guy was a cheeser, point blank. I turned on the accelerated clock and just ran the ball to run the clock out on him.

And you can jerk the L-stick from side to side and the player sort of glides in the opposite direction, and the you cant hardly tackle the guy. Read the what the other person above me said.

Isn't the unnatural jerking the exact reason that LocoMotion was implemented?

If he did the 4th down and onside kick stuff, then yes, I agree with you -- definitely a cheeser. I was specifically referring to running the ball with a speedy QB, which I don't consider to be cheese as it clearly happens all the time in real life. What defensive playbook do you usually use? I've had success stopping running QB users by staying in "3-3-5 Split: SS Double Spy" the majority of a game. It's sort of a "bend but don't break" defense for me. The opponent will get some drives on you, but I cannot count how many times running QB spammers (the ones that sprint to the right and throw 40 yards across their body to the left) have gotten into the redzone against me, only to throw picks because they don't know what to do when they cant run, and cant throw deep bombs in the short field. 9 Velcro can also stop these sort of players in their tracks, as all of their running lanes are occupied by zone defenders.

As for the stick thing, I'll give it a try in practice mode and see if I can replicate it so I can better understand what you're talking about.

Re: How do people do this move online?

The onside kick thing isn't cheese. It's a tactic many coaches have used coming out of the half. Auburn did it against UGA this year, in a game tied 21-21 at the half. It's unexpected, and the hope is that you don't notice it, and they get the ball back due to your surprise. The real problem is that in this game, there's no way to kick an onside kick out of the normal kickoff formation. SO, there's no way to disguise the play. He HAS to show it to you. When you noticed it, and prepared your team for it, he changed his strategy. That's not cheese. That's how the play would work in real life. If a team came out in an onside formation, and the other team shifted or called a t/o to prepare for it, then the kicking team would adjust and kick deep.

As for the fourth and 30, you had 30 yards to stop him and couldn't do it. Thirty yards. You didn't need to SPY him...but if you see a guy come out in anything other than a punt formation on 4th and thirty, you have to call a defense that is prepared for one of two things - a deep pass, or a running QB. You probably called a blitz, trying to protect against the throw....but a 30 yard throw? Come on. You should have been sitting in deep zones, and running DE contain. If he's going to have to toss it 30 yards, you're going to have time to get someone to the ball. If he's going to try to run it 30 yards, you're going to have players who can track him down.
