to solve the problem with getting sacked too much you might want to also tell your O-Line to 'block right' from the 4 options available for th eO-Line..I am sure you laready know this, but i didn't see you mention whether or not you tried that so , here it is.....

I am looking forward to madden this year!The demo was pretty good, and if the game plays more realistic by having the CPU run the ball better and not always complete 80% of their passes, it will be great

I think this is one of the signs of the apocalypse, IGN being much harder then OS on a Madden game.

HA!, man I didn't even watch the IGN one....so far the GT review towards the end basically tells you to buy Madden at full price and get it at launch......and this OS review, well, I'll just let others speak on it.

but I just presumed IGN's would be even more transparent....gonna have to check it out.

Nah roll with IGN impressions. They had me at first, now that more guys have the game, its been an Offense fest.

Trut me friend, on Offense scores are gonna be super high. i gave positive reviews at first, but now that the wolves are out, I ahve a whole new opinion.

I only played the Demo for about an hour, So I will reserve judgement until I get the retail.

How do you know it's suspect if you haven't played it?

I've been playing it for about two weeks. A friend of mine got the game eearly..he works for a small video game shop so he let me have it for a few weeks. I didn't buy it.

The game is better then 10 don't get me wrong, but come on, it's still missing that wow factor. Madden is getting stale.

I am going to have to RESPECTFULLY disagree with this review. First and foremost it reads like a Preview....and a very defensive one at that.

There is no breakdown of positives vs. negatives...This is most definitely one sided.

Also I wasn't aware that Pro-Tak was based off of phsyics.....

Madden 11 has been scored a 9 (exceptional) .....Yet the negatives listed Franchise and Superstar mode are the same as they have been for the entire next-gen lifecycle....not to mention there are plenty of other issues plaguing this game (I own an official copy).....

I'll see you all on Sunday, with my own personal assessment of Madden 11. (Maybe even earlier).

There're some negatives in there Bigsmallwood... but the reviewer did neglect to mention defense and special teams. ST is ok as its not a huge % of Madden playing time. But it looks to me like our reviewer didn't review half the game...

That's too high IMO. I love Madden but there is no way it's 9/10.....it could be far better than it is. 8 at the highest.

On the Playstation 3, replays have been cut short and there is no actual halftime show. It is more like a group of quick highlights of the first half. While it’s not a huge negative, the added detail of a quality halftime show can immerse you in the game.

What's the difference between this and the 360 version? Does this affect the weekly highlights during franchise, or is it just halftime?

Wow, this gets the...

"Really? REALLY? Really OS, really?"

no mention of special teams being out of whack? the fact that I have to KICK FIELD GOALS WITH MY EYES CLOSED to have even a small chance of missing? That there is only a global set of ST sliders so if you turn down FG accuracy even the slightest bit the CPU misses all of their extra points? Really? The fact that calling punt block gives you DAYS of open space to return punts? That Kickoffs are almost impossible to return past the 25 and the CPU will NEVER return them past the 20 on you? The fact that the CPU doesn't even bother to try to pin punts inside your 20 yard line? Really?

The guy spent 9 paragraphs on GAMEFLOW.

Three full paragraphs on AUTO TURBO!!!!

No mention of the CPU all out blitzing in obvious passing situations leading to easy scores for the human?

No mention of strategy pad being borderline impossible to use because the CPU snaps the ball so quickly?



I really like this game...but this review sounds like it goes on the back of the box for the game.

what are you basing that off of, may I ask? Are you MOD approved in impressions thread? (sorry if you are I missed it)

@Ryan36: I think special teams is huge for a review due to the issues of Players just watching their blocking assignments blow by them and give you no greater starting point than the 20 yd line (All-Pro, I'm sure rookie is different).

Also defense is questionable for the CPU and USER....but you are right half-of the game review is missing.

There were a lot of light touches here, but nothing in detail...which is what we look for in a review.
