I won't be getting this first day, but will pick it up sooner, rather than later. I REALLY want to see depth added to franchise/owner as well as Superstar. there's just so much you can add.... -
Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
Good review. Based on solid leap in quality in Madden 10, good things were to be expected from the M11 iteration. I'll be anxiously awaiting the patch placing the old controls for pre-snap adjustments (I don't want to be switching between two different systems when I play Madden/NCAA).
And yeah, just because the physics system in Madden isn't based on ragdoll engine technology, doesn't mean it can't be physics-based. Euphoria isn't the be-all end-all of physics engines.Last edited by metallicatz; 08-09-2010, 12:57 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
this close to release it's kind of irrelevant Klocker ,unless he's posting impressions...sounds like he just has a general feel for madden over the years which is fineComment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
Wow, this gets the...
"Really? REALLY? Really OS, really?"
no mention of special teams being out of whack? the fact that I have to KICK FIELD GOALS WITH MY EYES CLOSED to have even a small chance of missing? That there is only a global set of ST sliders so if you turn down FG accuracy even the slightest bit the CPU misses all of their extra points? Really? The fact that calling punt block gives you DAYS of open space to return punts? That Kickoffs are almost impossible to return past the 25 and the CPU will NEVER return them past the 20 on you? The fact that the CPU doesn't even bother to try to pin punts inside your 20 yard line? Really?
The guy spent 9 paragraphs on GAMEFLOW.
Three full paragraphs on AUTO TURBO!!!!
No mention of the CPU all out blitzing in obvious passing situations leading to easy scores for the human?
No mention of strategy pad being borderline impossible to use because the CPU snaps the ball so quickly?
I really like this game...but this review sounds like it goes on the back of the box for the game.
for those that don't appreciate what they have done here, they are obviously looking for something compeltely different in their experience. Being a member here for years now though I have come to expect a certain level of unrealistic expectations and sour grapes form a large vocal majority of posters here.
Oh and i have played Madden every year this generation for a total of about 1 month as I hated it but like the direction they have been going. this year it FEELS like they nailed it (for now as it will continue to evolve over the years)Last edited by Klocker; 08-09-2010, 12:58 PM.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
I'm sorry but this read like an EA press release straight off the sunshine and lollipop express.
This line really cracked me up.
The Franchise mode is back, and it boasts the same features we have seen in the past.
Sorry that's just really funny.
On other sites I'd expect this. On OS I'd expect Franchise review to be one of if not THE most important aspects of a review. That was our focus here....wasn't it?
This review was a little TOO well written. And although I have no problem with a score, since it's OPINION, this review reeks of any sort of objectivity and to me is an embarrassment for OS.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
just basing off the demo alone... the motion and the flow and feel of an NFL game captivated me, regardless of all of the nitpickers. That's why I can understand his focusing in on that as it REALLY is evident and makes the game different.:The FEEL of the game, the control and the imerrsion into an NFL experience is evident and light years ahead of where we were just three seasons ago. which was an arcade crapfest.
for those that don't appreciate what they have done here, they are obviously looking for something compeltely different in their experience. Beiung a memebr here for years now thogugh I have come to expect a certain level of unrealistic expectations and sour grapes form a large vocal majority of posters here. :usa
But I'm getting reallyyy sick of year after year OS's review quality going down hill.
I'm holding OS to high expectations, not Madden. I know they can do better than this.Comment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
I like the review. I don't see the problem with defense in general. I have used the Texans for most of my games and have kept the offenses in check. Sure I give up big plays from time to time but the major difference from my point of view is I don't feel "cheated" when it happens, unlike Madden 10 when players were warping all over the place. The thing that guys are not keeping in mind is this. Great players play good, and Bad players play bad. There seems to be a misconception out there that everybody can play at an elite level at every position and that simply isn't so. If you have marginal corners and safeties you will get marginal coverage. Ditto for ever other position. You must play to your teams strengths. No more hiding in a cover 4 all game and letting the CPU get cheap interceptions for you. You have to earn them now...
Thats all I got for now fellasComment

Re: Madden NFL 11 Review
OS is the biggest sports gaming site on the net, right?
They should have the best, most in-depth review by far. Things should be nit-picked, investigated, revealed, etc. The games reviewed here should be torn apart and picked through and every single detail pointed out, both good and bad.
No excuses for sounding like a review from the casual gamer, because OS is not for the casual gamer....at least this is my impressions
edit: this happens every year though, so I'm not really surprised, and I don't even really care...but it just seems like the reviews at OS need to be THE reviews for sports games and they just fall so short of thatComment
