Yeah, it is fairly popular in this area. And yes, we do have more than 50 fans, lmao!!! I'm happy to live in a part of the country where people don't look at you as if you've got two heads when you say that you're a hockey fan. I know a lot of folks who can relate to my passion for the game.

Loved the original post, BTW. '11 sounds incredible. I'm getting the fever already as well.

I live just south of Montreal, and It's great to know that there are people out there from places like Houston and Kentucky that are just as passionate about the game as anyone is up here! Don't forget, the NHL11 Demo should be dropping sometime real soon and that should help tide us over until the retail version hits stores. I believe the NHL 10 Demo came out around the middle of August last year but that was with a September 15 release date in mind. So this year, hopefully the demo will come out at least 1 week before last years if the release date is September 7th.

Oh and up here, people look at you funny if you DONT like hockey lol

Another good column, like I have said, unless another ice age comes to North America , we will always be in the background. But that is fine with me!

Atlanta here. And regardless of what you might think, there is a sizable, tight-knit hockey community here that eats, breaths, and lives this sport.

I grew up in a tiny redneck town in South GA, 100 miles from an ice rink. I play in a beer league here and and absolutely addicted!

          (I feel you, Kentucky)

I think you may have to go get your self checked out. I know a quite a few physicians / psychiatrists that may be able to help with whatever you have. Only problem is that, most of them have the NHL11 flu as well.

All kidding aside, I too can not wait for the day this game comes in the mail, being my Porche is schedualed to be in the shop then. So fingers crossed I get it by the 7th.

Seems appropriate enough to tell everyone here that this is my best friend from childhood who is solely responsible for me falling in love with hockey.

              Welcome him!!!

I live Chicago and can't wait til 9/7....speaking of hockey fans, the reverse is happening here. When the Hawks were terrible for 3 years prior to 08, only the real hockey fans still loved the sport. Now that the Hawks are good, everyone and their mom is hockey crazy even though they have no idea about the sport other than the fact that they think it's the in-thing to talk about and that they think Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews are cute.
                MLB-Chicago Cubs
                NFL-Cleveland Browns
                NCAA-Michigan Wolverines
                NHL-Chicago Blackhawks
                NBA-Sucks!

Re: Pucking Ridiculous: Stay Away, I'm Sick

I just finished up a summer Biology course. What really gives me the shakes is the realization that when NHL 11 drops, classes will have started up again, and my grades are going to take a pounding. But right now, with plenty of free time, all I can do is wait.

Okay, I'm biding my time with NCAA 11, but I'm already thinking I should just play NHL 10 instead, as hockey what I 'm really thinking about. And I'm a fairly new hockey fan (I have no idea what names Thorne mispronounces, so I think he is great). But damn it gets its hooks into you.

And hell yeah the Blues are going to win the Cup!

I live in Canada, and there's no NHL 11 fever here. Why? CUS MY FREAKING FRIENDS MAKE FUN OF ME FOR LOVING VIDEO GAMES.

Really, this is my only place of peace with video games. I swear to god I actually have no friends. I say they're obsessed with gay skateboards then they're like, "at least we're not addicted with video games,"

But I think my point is greater.

Again another great article Steve. You're quite on the roll with these. I'm just annoyed that the 7th falls on a tuesday. S'posed to be starting a new job next week and considering its in the IT field and should be fantastic money and benies I don't plan on burning any bridges looking for sick days anytime soon. I have a feeling that week is going to be a LONNNG week for me.

On a positive note I'm ordering a new rig tomorrow for a really good price, I7 core, Geforce 465 and all the bells and whistles to go along with it, so I guess that copy of Starcraft 2 I just got that runs like crap on this current machine will have to keep my interests til then.

I think the EA NHL flu has been hitting alot people as of late. Since NHL 09 this series has made alot of people sick and each year it's sooner and sooner.
