In my testing I've found that Player Min Speed Threshold set at 50 is unrealistic. No way a 88 speed saftey should be running down the 97 speed of Jamaal Charles. I've got it set at 35 right now and after 2 games it seems pretty good. Guys that should not be caught by slower defenders are not getting caught. Definetly changes the way you play D against some teams, got to keep Chis Johnson contained, once he's get free, bye bye...

I'd like to get some input from others on this particular slider.

        Thanks.

I don't think the player speed should reflect the actual NFL player. It wouldn't be fair in a video game if Devin Hester had his real speed. I've set it to 35 TH and I'm pretty much walking down the field with Hester cross routes. He can't be covered with the 35 TH. In my case since I use the Bears, I'd probably have to pump it up a little just to balance the game or else I go undefeated in my franchise and win it all.

So I just played Packers (Me) vs Cowboys. I'm not an expert Madden player nor am I really bad. I would rate myself as average to slightly above average I suppose.

            Packers 31, Cowboys 14
            Total offense: P: 336 C:313
            Rushing: P: 80 C: 88
            Passing: P: 256 C: 225

            Turn overs: P: 0 C: 3 (1 fumble, 1 ints)

            Rodgers: 17-24 240 2 TDs 0 INTs
Grant: 17 rushes 76 yards, 1 td (Broke 1 56 yard td run so actually avg only 1.25 ypc without that long rush. Was pretty tough going, Cpu broke blocks very easily and closed running lanes before I could reach them.)

            Romo: 14-34 262 2 tds 1 int
Jones 11 rushes 52 yards and Barber 5 rushes for 17 yards.

Total of around 95 total plays run between the two teams.

Also, tons of injuries during the game. 2 players were hurt and out for the game while 4-5 were injured for different periods of time.

Edit, I think I'm going to try these sliders on using a rushing team like the Vikings and see if that makes a difference.

I just played a quarter using the bears with a 35 TH and Hester isn't as deadly as I thought on the cross patterns, its a go route that he really shines. If the db hesitates at all, there is no catching up. But isn't that realistic? Hester is one of the fastest players in the NFL. I'll have to play more using these sliders to really decide if 35 is too fast.

Then again, you might be better than I am. I think TH is up to the player.

After a few more games I'm finding TH at 35 to be a bit to low. I'm getting free and running away iwth J. Charles. I'm going to set it at 41 for a couple games, and see the results. Of course the rest of my sliders are not the same a Mike's, so that's a factor as well.

Also it makes a difference who I'm playing. Set at 35 against the cowboys and Packers I was held to under 100 Yds for the game. Against the Titans I had over 200.

I am too actually. I had to adjust the running game just a bit. I'm sure that is mostly my skill level at play there.

What speed are most of you playing on? Slow or Normal?

Normal, Threshold at 40, All-Pro. Need to adjust penalty sliders. Need to drop Facemask big time. Unfortunately the only penalty really called. EA needs to get rid of the tackle by facemask and add more quality tackles. But I digress.

Been using these sliders for 2 games and I blew out the Bills 31-0 first game. Ran all over them and they couldn't pass or run the ball. Second game against the Vikes and won 31-27 mind you it shouldn't of even been that close. They scored on 2 fumble recoveries and didn't score in the 2nd half as I came back from a 27-7 deficit. They ran the ball pretty well but pretty much abandoned it in the 2nd half as I was mounting my comeback.
                              Favre was 8-19 127 YDS 1td 1int
                              AP- 11 att 90 YDS 8.1 avg.

The CPU offense seemed pretty bogged down other than a few nice long runs by AP. I just want to see some defensive struggles this year and have yet to see anything remotely close in the 5 games that I've played. Some tweaks are needed to make the CPU pass better. Favre should of completed more than 41% of his passes. Sacks weren't that bad actually as I had 5 and I noticed you have a better shot at sacking the QB when he goes into that long wind up motion trying to send the ball down field.
