4-2-5 and 3-3-5 Defense Man alignment
What is wrong with the way your players line up in the 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 defense when calling man coverage. One of my guys that is supposed to be coveraging a WR is lined up behind the guard in front of the LB. What the crap. I get some many blown coverages because they are not lining up correctly. Does patch 2 fix this? Is this going to be addressed?Tags: None -

I think its because the 4-2-5 is already very powerful and having proper man coverage would make it dang near broken considering all the pressure it gets.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game. -
Re: 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 Defense Man alignment
i had this happen in about the first 5 games i played with SMU in my dynasty with the 3-3-5 defensive playbook. i have since finished my season with SMU and became the coach at Florida. in the last half of the season with SMU and through the first 6 games with Florida, i have been using the multiple D defensive playbook(which has both the 3-3-5 and the 4-2-5) and have not been experiencing this alignment error.
just thought i would let you know my personal experiences with the same issue.Comment

I see that it always happens when you call man to man and there is a slot WR to the right of the offense. I think its dumb that the Dev team didn't catch this. I'm almost afraid to call man because they line up incorrectly.i had this happen in about the first 5 games i played with SMU in my dynasty with the 3-3-5 defensive playbook. i have since finished my season with SMU and became the coach at Florida. in the last half of the season with SMU and through the first 6 games with Florida, i have been using the multiple D defensive playbook(which has both the 3-3-5 and the 4-2-5) and have not been experiencing this alignment error.

Re: 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 Defense Man alignment
Is it possible to manually move that particular DB in front of or closer to the WR he's covering? Or is it just a matter of having the time to do so before the offense snaps the ball?A negative mind will never give you a positive life.

I could but I wouldn't have time to select the saftey I like to control. And I don't understand because there is a defender out by the slot but he is trying to cover the RB. It doesn't make any sense.Comment

Yeah I tried flipping it but he just stays right there over the guard when he's supposed to be checking the slot WR. It ticks me off because the other team knows when I'm in man defense.Comment

It is a little screwy but unless you are controlling a guy that is in Man coverage it isn't a big problem. The CPU automatically switches when guys cross so it kind of fixes itself. Of course you can still get burned if the slot receiver runs a flag. I'm trying to highlight the positives, the fact that it has been this way for a couple of years is still upsetting though.Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Isn't there a hot route adjustment called man align? Its supposed to move a player in front of the man he's covering I think.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

I've yet to run into this problem, I hope I don't seeing as my offline team runs the 4-2-5.Originally posted by BlueNGoldI feel weird for liking a post about exposed penises.Comment

Re: 4-2-5 and 3-3-5 Defense Man alignment
The biggest problem happens against twins and trips formations, and I think it primarily affects the 4-2-5. You end up with a linebacker or safety guarding the other team's #1 or #2 receiver in man to man, while the second CB lines up on the other side of the formation over the TE. There's no realistic way to manually reposition and change assignments before the ball is snapped, so it essentially means that you can't play man to man coverage against these formations.Comment
