What Kind of Strange Transactions have you Seen?
I've come across some funny ones like Manny Ramirez signing an off-season contract with Red Sox. Not to mention the BoSox also picked up Derek Jeter. Mariano Rivera also had his travels in my RTTS: Yankees to Mets to Yankees to Rangers, with the Yankees getting Jonathon Papelbon.. Needless to say, we lost many games in the 9th inning because of Papelbon. So, what kind of wacky moves have you seen?

J-Roll traded to the Mets and Ortiz to Yankees... -
Re: What Kind of Strange Transactions have you Seen?
In my Braves franchise Albert Pujols was traded to Chicago for Zambrano and prospects. Note that this was at the trade deadline and Chicago was 1 game behind the NL Central leading Cards. Pujols is now on a tear in Chitown whereas Zambrano is rocking a lackluster 7-10 record (or something along those lines). the prospects they got were like nothin over B potential either.Comment

David Ortiz to Seattle for 3 'A' potential prospects. I use OS Roster V 4.1. Seemed like a "strange" transaction, but fair nonetheless.
Also, what I didn't agree with was the Mets traded Ike Davis and 2 others to Houston for Lance Berkman and prospects.Believe None of What You Hear, and Half of What You See.Comment

How strange is this? I'm in year 2 of my franchise, and while I was playing last month, Cantu got dealt to the Rangers and Podsednik got dealt to the Dodgers. This was before the transactions happened in real life a couple weeks ago.Comment

Oakland Trades Ben Sheets to Colorado
Colorado Trades Prospect A and Prospect B to Oakland
A week later...
Colorado trades Ben Sheets to Oakland
Oakland trades Prospect C and Prospect D to Colorado.
I can't remember who the prospects were, at the time I didn't think to remember the names, but i found it amusing when the second trade went through.Comment

Re: What Kind of Strange Transactions have you Seen?
I've seen Derek Jeter in an A's uniform, Pujols in a Rangers uniform (in my Nationals dynasty, not my doing), Johnny Damon on the Padres, then the Mets, and many more. I guess the oddest one was Vladimir Guerrero on the Pittsburgh Pirates. I traded him to Chicago for prospects, and he ended up signing with the Pirates to play Right Field for them. Not really a smart move to go to the National League Vlady.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

This was my first dynasty. I started over to get new rosters with Strasburg if that gives you an idea of how long ago it was. I believe I started that one before the patch.Comment

Re: What Kind of Strange Transactions have you Seen?
And most of those are the reasons why in my franchise I control all 30 teams and accept or reject such ridiculous trades. Jeter on another team? Pujols being on the block and/or traded? I could see Papelbon and Ortiz to the Yankees IF they were free agent signings, no way would they be traded there, especially in season. And Rivera being traded?
Laughable.
In my Road to the Show as a pitcher in the Red Sox organization, I have noticed two things that seriously make me want to re-start, I'm only in May 2010.
After my last save, I hit "Sim Until Next Apperance" and what happens?
Jon Lester [3-0, 1.67 ERA] is traded to Seattle for 1B Dustin Ackley. Are you freaking kiddng me?! Why on Earth would this move be made?! Ackley is currently hitting .268 in AA, but has A potential.
This move is dumb especially since Beckett is on a 1/1 contract and there's no way to edit his contract as extended to a 1/4 like it was in real-life, so if the game lets him walk, then they are out of Lester too.
I'm all for the front office doing what it wants to do when I'm playing Road to the Show, that's the beauty of it. But this is beyond dumb.
The next one made me shut the game off. I'm looking through the Red Sox roster, and come to find out, that David Ortiz is in AAA. That's right. Ortiz is a PawSox, and in-place of him backing up Youkilis is Aaron Bates with B potential.
Ortiz is hitting .368 in AAA [gee what a surprise?] I would be okay with this move cause he would eventually be called back up, even though he does NOT have an official At-Bat at the Major League level in 2010 on this mode. At least I would hope he would be called back up.
Losing Lester made me want to chuck something.
Unbelievable. I could see a few trades and signings that maybe a little odd, or moves I wasn't expecting, but crap like this just upsets me.
The Sox would get 3 or 4 prospects with A potential, or even 2 A potential prospects with 2 guys that are already Major League players if they traded Lester. But for 1 freaking player, even WITH A potential?
