Re: Who are the commentators?
For the Jordan Challenge...Please 2K not Jeff van Gundy or the guys from nba tv...they suck...
If it's not possible to for acquire the rights for old school commentators, at least hire some guys who can imitate the voices of the old school ones and give them generic names...Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game. -

Re: Who are the commentators?
the nba today system is great. it's just that clark kellogg blows. half of his line are recycled from old games and the rest are made up of his corny slang. not to mention, he's not even an nba media personalityComment

Re: Who are the commentators?
what do you mean? hes a commentator for the Pacers. IDK 2K10 was my first BBall game in a while so its the first time I heard his lines.
If they do in fact change and make it better, thats going to be awesome.Comment

Re: Who are the commentators?
I just want deeper, more organic commentary with lots of situational lines. You get recycled lines when you change the color man every other year. There's only so much you can record in a given time frame. If they could keep the same two color people together, they could build up a bigger and bigger library of phrases. All that goes out of the window when a new color man has to come in and make sure the very basic lines get in AND lines about specific players.
If I can get great commentary, I could care less who is in the booth.
NCAA Football has a commentary team that doesn't even announce games. Lee Corso doesn't call games himself at all. No one complains about that. Or maybe they do, I don't play EA football games anymore, so I don't mess with those forums.Comment

Re: Who are the commentators?
They haven't said anything about changing the commentators, except that Kevin Harlan will be in the game so I expect Clark Kellogg will be back too. Imo they have been great together. So much more realistic than Marv Albert and Steve Kerr.
I love Marv Albert and Mike Fratello and if they could get them it would be great. I'd love to see what 2K could do with them since they have a great commentator system. They won't be in 2K11 though. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: Who are the commentators?
I don't get the hate some have for Kellogg. If it's because some of his lines are repeated from previous years, it's more about the script/programming than Kellogg himself. Just played a game yesterday and compared to a lot of games, the K10 team is right near the top in terms of commentary content and delivery imo.HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Who are the commentators?
I think it would be much easier for 2K (think deadlines) to add TONS of new lines for a commentator already in the game, than start over with a new one. I guess there are better guys than Kellogg, but if they start over with a new one, they'll probably need another year to get it to the next level. That's the way I see it.My Specs:

For me its not his lines, as much as his voice. For whatever reason it just pisses me off.I don't get the hate some have for Kellogg.
