Yeah I thought I heard about the slider. I'm just worried about EASHL and online. I played another period and didn't see any, so maybe it was more than average.


Also, the more I experience the checking the more I like it. There's some big hits, probably more than happen in real life, but the minor collisions look really really good IMO. MUCH better than 10. They make sense.

Maybe it is the way I play, but I haven't seen one, I'm about to start my third, third period. Hahaha.

EDIT- Anyone else got any impressions? I'm kinda falling in love over here...

Oh, and does anyone know if the team name you pick in the demo for UT carries over to the retail game? I want to try UT but need to think of a good name first if that's the case.

I've understood that you're only able to earn card packs for the real thing by playing the demo. So no name carries over.

It isn't your actual team for HUT. The players you get are much too good.

Just started my first 3rd period, not 10 seconds in Carter scores against me on a rebound bat in, and it gets reviewed and overturned from no goal to goal. Hell of a way to start things off here lol

I am digging the card game. Probably because that's the only way to play a full game right now though haha. But it should get interesting when we can play others.

EDIT: nevermind, you still only play 1 period. The first game just felt longer. Oh well, in 2 periods my boy John Tavares had 2 goals. Do we get to keep these players for the retail version?

Doesn't look like you can mess with the sliders.

YOU CAN SHUT PUCK SHADOW OFF!!!! Also you can change the puck size...?? Don't get that, but whatever.

Well I'm sold. The game just feels more gritty and real, from puck physics where it can get knocked loose pretty easy to the hitting feeling just more solid to the rebounds off tenders. It doesn't feel totally different from 10, just alot more refined.

Love all the new little subtle overlays in the score ticker as well, face off %, shots on goal etc. nice touch. I've already seen a couple new cut scenes as well.

AI seems alot smarter as well though it may be just me getting used to the new feel of the game.

Not too happy with a few of the goals scored against me. A few where the goalie made a save, the puck popped up and he just stared at it and then shuffled into it, pushing it into the net. The goals I scored have been nice and satisfying though. And the hits I have been laying with Chara have FELT nice. Not sure about how it looks though.

goalies seem a tad more refined, I did see Niemi make a hell of a diving save but over all not much different than 10, just more fluid if that makes sense? Didn't notice new cameras but I perfer the old classic view to begin with.

at 10% and can't wait to try this out. i have a baseball tourny today so i am only going to get to play for like an hour so hopefully it finishes soon. quick question, to get the extra card pack by inviting a friend, do they have to accept and download it to get the pack or does it unlock as soon as you pick someone randomly to invite?

Short list of notable pros and cons from a few games...

PROS
Broken Sticks / lost sticks. We will be able to turn the frequency down. But when it DOES happen, I like this aspect of the game.
Spot shadow on goal scorer... I have always wanted this
Card Game (forgot what it is called) seems interesting
Good players seemed good, bad players seemed bad... same with hitting
Sound is top notch. Love when the puck hits the leg pads along the ice
Puck protect animation is WAY better


NOT PROS
Goalie reactions to loose pucks / slow moving pucks
Goalie passing still confuses me (User error?) and I seem to throw the puck in random directions when it is played out of the crease.
Skaters seem too big/fat to me. Maybe it is just me.

I am really hating the demo... Reason is that it will make the time until the retail version comes ALOT SLOWER.... I love the feel of this game so far.. AI seems improved... Whatever passing setting it is on I love it.. You can't just zing the puck around. CPU isn't pass happy like I remember... Overall Graphically the game looks the same but polished.. Maybe it's because I played on the Ps3 before and now am on 360 but the ice surface looks AMAZING... Looks like it's snowed over in the late period.. Back to playing... I'm lovin this thing...

Ice looks MUCH better. Shadows/lighting is also improved before and after the game for sure. Skaters might be a bit sharper, can't be sure.
