Does Pittsburgh use the Predator? I have seen them put their linebackers on the line to rush in Nickel situations, namely Woodley, but I can't recall off the top of my head them using that 4-3 style of look the way I've seen the Dolphin, Ravens and even the Cowboys use. Just curious.

what does 46 Bear mean? why is it different from 46 Normal?

46 BEAR was a defense that was used by the Chicago bears during the 80's where they were working for a defensive alignment that would shutdown the strong side TE's. The Bear alignment calls for...

4 down linemen
- 3 over the two guards and center
- 1 lined outside the left tackle (left of screen)
- then there are two linebackers that shade over the TE position in "normal" formations
- stacked behind the defensive line is a safety who shades the left A gap and a MLB who shades the right A gap
- One safety is deep
- 2 cornerbacks wide

This formation can bring pressure primarily from the overload on the linebacker strong side as well as great A gap pressure. IMO its one of the most overlooked playbooks in all of madden.

the predator is a 3-4 alignment where one of the linebackers is in a 3 point stance. you can move this defender (within reason) across the defensive line and he will remain in his stance...its great for creating pressure in certain gaps!

it is the old Buddy Ryan defense...there is a couple issues with it though....one Rex Ryan and Bob Ryan used it lately (now mostly a 3-4 version were the RE is replace with a standing Rushing end ie Suggs)...except they change the position of the SS...SS use to line up behind the RE, now he plays on line next to the OLB...also the base blitz used out of 46bear is not in the playbook which is called the single blitz...and 9 out of 10 ten times it is a man to man coverage...however in the madden play book there is to much zone...

By the way I have switched to the cowboys D due to the number of zone blitzes

Is a true Tampa 2 in any of them? Does anyone know? I havent been able to find it yet.
