Post Your Offense
Hey guys. I decided to make a thread on YOUR offensive strategy. Your playbook, your tendencies, or whatever you do to get the ball moving. I'll start off first by saying I run a spread no huddle that utilizes a short passing game (Texas Longhorns 2008 & 2009). I use the Texas Tech Playbook because they have the most screens, stick, and other short passing plays. Post Yours!NFL: Dallas Cowboys

Re: Post Your Offense
Air Raid sometimes a spread offense. Houston, Cinny, and sometimes TT playbook. Whatever I feel for the day. I run alot of slants, posts, curls, hooks. An then go deep from time to time. I run a no-huddle offense. -
Re: Post Your Offense
I use the Pistol offense because I'm using Indiana in my offline dyansty. I like the formation and having a dual threat QB.
I run a lot of counters, sweeps, and dive from the pistol formation.
I try to set up the run as best as possible and run a lot of playaction bootlegs. I also utilize screens a lot and call WR and HB screens a few times a game. I try to throw short simple passes. Rarely will I go long unless I have a player clearly open.
I typically pass and throw an equal amount of time. I do run the option play and it either works great or results in a fumble. I only run the option if I have a safe lead.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: Post Your Offense
I use buffalo's playbook. I run alot with the ace formations, this year in my OD i've been throwing alot more.. and I haven't been too successful with that.. Soo i guess i'll just keep the ball on the ground until i can recruit a more accurate passer.Oklahoma City Thunder

Re: Post Your Offense
I usually go team specific for my playbook, and then adapt to that.
Currently, I'm playing with Michigan, and I use West Coast concepts to compliment their read option/spread playbook. My first 10 or so plays of the game are scripted (a-la Bill Walsh) regardless of outcome, just to get the feel of the defense. And then I work from there.
Generally though, I tend to lean towards teams with a mobile QB. I personally feel I'm good enough on the sticks to pass without much regard to arm strength and accuracy, so having a runner is icing on the cake for me.Ut Prosim - That I May ServeComment

Re: Post Your Offense
Louisville's playbook, spread offense. Need a scrambling QB because I option occasionally.
1st down usually a run. Stretch, dive, or toss usually.
2nd down pass or run depending on whats working.
3rd down and long for guaranteed yards, I do a slip screen.
Like to do out routes, posts, curls. hit my TE on a consistent basis.Louisville Cardinals

whatever works best with the players I have.
Actually, have been slowly shifting towards pro-style since NCAA 10 after running a spread option offense for 08-09.Wisconsin Badgers | Green Bay Packers | Vodafone McLaren Mercedes | Andretti Autosport

Re: Post Your Offense
Singleback. I kill the clock, and score. In my opinion the way to get it done. I pass on first a lot. More run heavy. Not afraid to give my QB only 11 attempts if my backs (I utilize atleast 3 backs a game) can get the job done. No you wont lead the league in offense, but how many teams lead the league in offense who actually win? IN the game? Not a lot
I use alabamas playbook. And once every game I will have an entire drive that is ran out of the wildcat.Last edited by geetarguy; 08-17-2010, 09:42 PM.Comment

Re: Post Your Offense
Using BYU's playbook I use an Air Raid passing game to open up the run. Keep HB Dive as an audible and tear up nickel or dime defenses with it. Short passes are good. Mix in some passes from I-Formation and runs from 4 WR sets and the opponent has no idea whats coming
Sometimes I'll go with Oregon's playbook, which has 4 shotgun halfback dives, and get tons of rushing yards with them.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

Re: Post Your Offense
Since AubOrange and myself have been discussing the workings of my offense I mine as well post it in a thread talking about styles.
I run the Pistol but with a triple option type style. I come out with a pass play every down. If the defense has more men in the box than I have blockers I run my pass play, if they have equal or less I stay in the same formation and audible to my inside run. Just like the triple option my first read is always run up the gut. I do not stray from it either, very basic rules if they have more in the box than me I pass, if not I run it. As the game goes on the defense really tries to take away that inside run, when that happens and the put 7 in the box, its now 4 on 4 in the passing game and I start going to the air. They adjust to stop the pass and I go back to hitting them in the middle once rules show me its right to go there. Then just back an forth taking what they are giving.Last edited by PocketScout; 08-18-2010, 12:24 AM.NCAA 2014: Current DynastyComment
