New Kicking Meter A Challenge?

Ive been playing the game since release and havent missed a FG yet. Even with lower rated kickers im not seeing that much of a difference. Anyone else having a different experience?

I'd say it's easy enough when you're paying attention, I've missed a few FG's & even an extra point with this one but it's party due to the new meter & partly because I was doing somehting else at the time.

I voted yes just because its more challenging than what we had before, but it still moves too slow for me. I wish we had Human and CPU kicking sliders so i could make the CPU a little more accurate and make my meter a lot more challenging. Tally up one for NCAA there.

I posted this on the demo, as I didn't see any change in difficulty. It wasn't the mechanism that was broken in Madden 10, it was the calculations. Instead of fixing the problem (the calculations / tuning of the analog stick) they simply replaced the stick. It's sad, because it's clear by their 'solution' that they didn't even understand the fundamental problem with FG kicking.

OMG Every time i Play ONLINE It LAGGGGG'S Like CRAZY so i never kick a Field Goal because i would miss it every time. so thats why, i always go for 2

But on Off-Line its Sweet as Magic !

Its not really a challenge as much as its a cause of frustration. I can knock through 50+ yarders with ease when all is fine and good. But then you get those fun times when the games frame-rate issues crop up just as you start the kicker meter and you're left missing an extra point because of a defect in the game (or the lag online). I like the kick meter better than the old meter because before what kicker you picked didnt really matter and now it does, I just wish it worked right 100% of the time and wasnt janky and busted.

Challenging isnt the word for it, I've had nothing but problems with it and it doesnt matter if I'm online or offline, sometimes the meter stops but most of the time it never stops and I shank every kick! the old style worked better imo...

I have problems offline with long distance kicks on all-madden. It must go a little faster plus the fact I play the NY Jets and Folk is pathetic.


They should have never changed it from last years.

Indifferent!? Its sorta/kinda touchy, you need to get it PERFECT if you want it to be guarenteed. Ive noticed that if you miss the accuracy line, the ball will curve left or right (even in domes/no wind), depending which side you missed it on. Ive clanked a few off the uprights because of this.

I actually have been curious about this but not curious enough to test it. I have only used one kicker thus far but for people who have used different kickers, does the speed of the meter vary? It's a huge omission IMO if it doesn't.


Also, I think it is more of a challenge (albeit a small one) than last year for the simple fact that now accuracy is controlled by two aspects (still pretty easy ones) rather than just one.

Last year, you chose accuracy with the arrow, and power with the joystick. This year accuracy is determined by both the arrow and the meter which allows for greater room for error.


I don't know what went into it, but I'm hoping there is a difference in speed of the meter and variance for error based on kicker attributes.

uhh this is how it used to be back in the day, 3 button kicking.. it's simple intuitive and no gimmicks

unlike last year's right stick kick gimmick

i prefer this style tbh

its easier and harder. Easier if you pay attention harder in if you dont you miss like 40 feet wide right and online... lag kills you. sometimes i stop it and it stops right in the middle then it moves all the way to the left spontaneously and i miss

This. Even the slightest and the kick is way off.
