End of game commentary - driving me nuts!

At least 7 out of 10 games, regardless of who's playing (with the exception of the FCS schools) Kirk Herbstreit comments on how "even" the teams were, and either team could have been picked to win and nobody would have blinked an eye.

I just started a second dynasty as WKU, and their first game of the season is at Nebraska, who is ranked #9. I throw a TD pass with 8 seconds left to take the lead. I ended up winning 17-13. But the dang game won't even acknowledge an upset. I've yet to see them comment on an upset win. Driving me nuts!!!

    Playing on default AA btw.

Just turn off the commentary, which is utterly useless. I did that after a few games, and turned up the stadium and field sounds. It's been great. Herbstreit and Nessler bring nothing to the table. Same old, tired commentary. Makes one yearn for Tom Hammond.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

Hmm, in my Dynasty I switched from Tech to Army so now I'm D- and if I beat a B-C team they always talk about the upset.

Personally I think Kirk should be removed all together (or at least updated greatly), his commentary so annoying.

Same here. Only thing I miss is Erin Andrews' sideline reports...I noticed my star WR wasn't lining up so I checked injury update and he was out 4 weeks

But somehow he's still the leading candidate for the Heisman.

I play as Michigan and I swear I don't think I've heard Kirk say anything other than how even the teams were. Forget "7 out of 10 games," I mean I'm fairly certain I've never heard him give another line in that spot.

Also agree with Spanky: turned off commentary my last two games and it was a positive experience; didn't miss commentary at all.

Yeah, I think I was Michigan, playing Bowling Green, Northwestern, an FCS team, and Herbstreit says that on paper these two teams were even, blah, blah, blah. I figured he just said that after every game.

I finally have heard him say stuff about how it went about the way they thought, or something to that effect.

Obviously commentary could have been done a lot better, but this game is still great.

Only thing I dislike is the forced watching of the player of the game play so they can shamelessly push an Advertisement in a game I paid $$$ for. Though it's no where near as abrasive or pervasive as Madden's advertising from M10. (worst in game Ads 'ever' in a video game). Just let us hit A and go through it. If it's a great play we'll watch it, you'll get your Ad view, and then it's a win for every one.

I always thought it was kind of... weird... when Brad Nessler claims during the Player of the Game that EA Sports will donate $10,000 to the school's general scholarship fund...

He says it a lot with my Teambuilder squad even though in my case it should be an even match up. It might have something to do with their predictions, if Nessler picks one team and Herbstreit picks the other then I'm guessing you get the "evenly matched" end game dialogue regardless of who wins. But if they both pick one team and the other team wins, (again) I'm guessing that's when you get the upset end game dialogue.

I didn't check before the game to see who they picked. But would any ESPN analyst really pick WKU to win in Lincoln? I will give them credit, on the pre-game picks, where it shows Corso's head and Herbie's head is a pretty good prediction. Few upsets here and there, but not a D overall team upsetting Nebraska. In Nebraska. Good theory though.

Re: End of game commentary - driving me nuts!

I've played this series since the beginning. For those who have as well ... you may remember that the commentating used to be a lot better/smarter. The headlines week to week were also impressively diverse and creative. Ex. If you were facing a team you used to coach, they'd mention it! You felty as though they "got" the season and all its
                        intricacies.

I love this game for many reasons, but they really need to put more work into the "WWE/soap-opera" part of the game, which includes the start/end commentary. "So and so has a good QB" and "the teams looked even on paper" just doesn't cut it. If a team loses a game due to 5 turnovers, why not mention the importance of winning the T/O battle?

Also, as the season progresses, Kirk and co. should have a decent grip on the season. If two conference teams meet up half-way through the season undefeated ... why not mention that it's an IMPORTANT game? If a backup QB is starting due to an injury to the starter, why not include that in the start-game commentary? And if a true dark horse wins the NC? Have a couple of scripted endings for it! Not the standard, "There were many doubters along the way but they proved them wrong."

After playing just one season, you will have heard almost everything.

Anyway, with all this said ... I'd settle for Kirk not saying, "I'm really impressed with how this kid has been throwing the ball in this game" after his FIRST pass of the contest! Or, after a ball is tipped at the line of scrimmage and intercepted ... mention that it was tipped and NOT "poorly thrown". That stuff is just inexcusable.

The commentary sucks. It needs to be updated badly. But it is nicer w/o Corso this year. I may experiment w/ a few games and turn off the commentary and blast the stadiums sounds.

2 big additions needed for 2012: better commentary and better atmosphere w/ noise. If I'm playing in the swamp, I want it to be incredibly loud and energetic. Likewise if I'm playing @ FIU, I want it to sound like crickets or how 99% of games sound in NCAA 2011: dead.

'07 or '08's game had CRAZY HFA. I loved it. The entire controller shook. In this year's game, when they say, "It's so loud in here!" .. I laugh. The place sounds dead.

HA. I literally just finished a game as Mizzou against Arkansas State in my Dynasty (Overall B and D- teams, respectively), and he made the same kind of comment about us being "even" after I won by like 35. I've noticed it before, but it's still annoying every time.
