So what's the Difficulty Level verdict?

    When reading the thread:

    http://www.operationsports.com/forum...e-sliders.html

Seems like some people are moving to Varsity Level, other to Heisman.

What seems to be the consensus, and why?

Re: So what's the Difficulty Level verdict?

i'm staying at AA and i've just adjusted a few sliders to my liking and i've been having great games just about every time out. not just great games, "different" games if you will. for example, i just started a new Dynasty w/ Auburn and went into my first game vs. Ark. St. just assuming it would be easy, turns out, i was only up 7-0 going into the 4th qtr. every game to me seems to be a little different than the others so i've had no reason to play anything but AA the past few years. also, i've rarely seen any AI goofs at all, maybe once or twice, but not enough to make me mad.

I was playing on Varsity with Playmakers sliders before the 2nd patch and after the 2nd patch I didn't change a thing. I'm seeing no difference in game play for the cpu running game. Before the patch I was giving up 80-120yds rushing and post patch the numbers are the same. The only thing I have seen is cpu passing is way better.
Relax, it's just a video game!

Re: So what's the Difficulty Level verdict?

I play on Heisman with minimal slider adjustments

        CPU Acc-45
        CPU Pass Block-35
        CPU Wr Catching-45
        CPU Run Blocking-55
        Cpu Pass Coverage-45

I'm loving it. I'm getting blowouts and tight games. Anything lower then Heisman is too easy this year. On AA I played @ Alabama using Western Kentucky and I didn't feel challenged.

Default Heisman is good but the CPU passing game is too good and the defenders mirrored my WR's too much so I made those adjustments.

I would choose Heisman by a long shot. Plays much more fair this year and doesn't cheat like in past years. Provides a challenge.

Re: So what's the Difficulty Level verdict?

Went back to AA. Jumped to Heisman but find the CPU cheats real bad to win. Miracle plays, LBs that jump better than guys in the Olympics and six guys in my backfield every time I tried to run in the 4th Quarter got old. In my last OD game I was tied 21-21 late in the game and missed a chipshot FG. I kicked the ball straight down the middle but the ball behaved like hurricane force winds came up and the ball mysteriously curved wide. Then the CPU completed a Lynn Swann-esque pass and kicked a Herculean FG as time expired to win 24-21. In another game I was up 21-8 and having my way with ND, but in the 4th quarter I suddenly couldn't make a single first down. ND won 22-21.

If I lose a legitimate game, fine. But when the CPU cheats to win...no thanks.

Same here. I've been getting really good games with those sliders, though I have had to adjust the cpu and user passing after the patch. Never really played on varsity before, but I'm really liking how the players act with those sliders

Re: So what's the Difficulty Level verdict?

AA is solid. I found that on Heisman you need to reduce the following items:

                1) CPU RB Ability to 40 (eliminates the ridiculous broken tackles)
                2) CPU Pass Block to 40
                3) CPU Pass Rush to 40

                Increase User:
                1) Pass rush to 55 or 60
                2) RB Ability to 55
                3) Tackle to 55 or 60
                What?

I don't think all of it is sliders.....i just think EA has some kind of code in the game where Varsity level is easier to customize because that's most likley where EA does all there game testing.

They just modify each level above Varsity by a percentage boost in sliders and ratings.

Not too much super man stuff seems to happen on Varsity accept the broken tackles which i think is more a result of the inflated break tackle ratings in the game itself.

Now from reading a few post the only thing that seems to have happend on Varsity level is the QB's have been beefed up somewhat. But lowering QBA slider should fix any issue with that slider.

Playing on AA with a few slider adjustments to balance it out, and only call plays offered by the AI, mostly taking the first place offered.

This thread kinda downplays Varsity level.....

There should have been an option for stayed on Varsity level because a lot of us started out on Varsity level and therefor we never moved down to begin with LOL

I have stayed on AA. Always played Heisman in the past, because the sliders never seemed to work. This year I've been able to get my most realistic results on AA. Currently trying out SN's new post-patch sliders and making tweaks according to my skill level. So far so good.

Was using SN's sliders until I beat Alabama with Middle Tennessee State. Moved to Heisman with these adjustments:

                          HUM WR Catching 60
                          HUM Pass Rush 60

                          CPU FG Acc 55

AA with jistic sliders. I started my dynasty over and now I'm playing as Georgia. My first game was against the "Ragin Cajuns", and it was scary until the middle of the second quarter. The game is great to me.

AA is broken for me now. You can't finetune the cpu running game. If you like it at default (weak for many of us) then you will be fine with AA but it's unplayable for me now. Made the jump to Heisman and with slider tweaks it plays very well. It's not cheap and the computer does not cheat imo.
