This year it seems a little harder getting a lot of tackles with a specific player. I think the most I've had this year is like 8 :-/

I've had 10 tackles with Ray Lewis using 15 min qtr with 25 second run off. The problem was that the CPU had 92 plays during that game in order for me to get 10 tackles with Ray Lewis.

If I run a more realistic setting and let the CPU have around 60 plays (10-11 minutes) the lack of proper OL/DL interaction and the players ability to break tackles means getting 10+ tackles with a single defender is almost impossible.

Ive had 12-14 tackles with James Laurenatis. Im not having a problem getting a lot of tackles with him. I usually have 2 players with 8+ tackles a game, usually Laurenatis is one of them.

as the above post illustrates... high tackles is best achieved by having only one decent player on your defense:P

So far I like the distribution of tackles better than last year. There are a few less tackles by DLineman and a few more by the LBs.

That has always been so true with Madden... wish they had a way to fix that.

OJ Atogwe is a top 5 safety so no. Also Chris long is a beast in this game and so is Ron Bartell.

Double digit tackles is a stat you don't see every game in the NFL and Madden does a good job keeping them realistic. In older Maddens you would see player of the weeks with like 12 tackles, 3 sacks, and an int...I've gotten 5-6 tackles, 2 sacks, and a Fumble forced with patrick willis, that seems about right for a game to game stat.

Honestly, that's true of the NFL. Defenses with lower overall talent tend to have individual players with higher tackle numbers in general. Willis had an insane 174 tackles his rookie year, and he was one of the few talents that defense had on the team in 07. Worse players miss tackles, pursue poorly, etc. As the 49ers defense has gotten better, Willis' numbers hav gone down. While some players get worse, like Gabril Wilson who was a monster at SS his first two years in the league not that long ago, he hasn't really played all that well since.

Also, for me anyway, I play 15min quarter games. My stats tend to look very realistic game in and game out. If you are looking for realistic results, you can't really play 5-8min quarter games. I'm not saying you are, but if you are, be honest with yourself here.

This is probably a dumb question, but the CPU has the same stats no matter how many minutes you play in your game right? I think the CPU should have adjusted stats based off the quarter length and acc. clock you set yours at.

yes exactly similar too what nba 2k has where stats r based of time. I think the best fix for this would be if t ea patched in a total tackle column that way we can all get good realistic numbers. Think it would be a good idea to demand it be placed in the patch.. it can be a game killer for sim players like me
