Re: Yet another awesome video..
Everyone keeps praising the pace shown in these videos....does no one watch real club football? The pace of these videos is faaar too quick. There was no build-up play, it was just storming down the pitch to try to get the ball into the net. One of my biggest complaints for fifa 10 and the wc edition was that the pace of the game didn't mirror real life. It needs to be slowed down substantially.Comment

Re: FIFA Soccer 11 Videos: Gameplay From GamesCom
Definitely tough to say anything. The game looks like the pace is too fast and almost arcade like. However, I believe both players are struggling to control their defenders - does anyone else notice it's almost too much commitment to the ball rather than marking - which is why on many occasion they are out of place.
I see a lot of core gameplay of FIFA 2005 PC in this. The ball is also bright white, a problem the PC version from 2003-2010 has had.
It's not all bad though. The animations and player movement is really smooth.
The game speed is probably on Normal which will be default for ranked online matches.Comment

Re: FIFA Soccer 11 Videos: Gameplay From GamesCom
Definitely need to see videos vs the CPU. These two couldn't wait to get to the goal, so I can barely watch any of these human vs human videos of either game.
I too am hoping for some realistic pacing. I have never felt a drastic difference between Slow and Normal game speed. I guess there must be some difference although it is hard for me to tell. It isn't drastic enough, that I am certain of.Comment

I also hope this was on a low diff. setting, cuz as much as I like the spacing in middfield, I disliked it in front of the goal.
But the motions and the overall flow looked great!
I really hope the new dynasty mode is solid this year!Soccer: Werder Bremen, FC Barcelona,
NBA: Celtics, Bulls, Supersonics
NHL: Flames
NFL: Steelers

Re: FIFA11 Gameplay Video from GamesCom
I know it's still tough to say, but apparently this is the PC version. I'm sure some of you have seen the video, but in comparison to the new one for ps3/x360...it's almost night and day in regards to pace of play, possibly even physics.

Re: FIFA Soccer 11 Videos: Gameplay From GamesCom
~0:42 secs - 1st Messi goal looked just like last year. He's standing at MF, no one is marking him or even acknowledges him, 1 thru-ball and he's 1-on-1 with the keeper. The LB (looks like Marcelo) just stands and watches him make that run from mid-field.
Chelsea goal on Juve is the typical FIFA sitter goal. Wait until the goalie commits and pass it to your 2nd attacker. Juve's backline didn't even make an attempt to get back. In fact the defender on the bottom just stopped instead of trying to get to Drogba. The other defender didn't do anything except back-peddle instead of either committing to Anelka or playing the return pass from Anelka.
I did like that Real Madrid wasn't in all-out pressure mode but there's just too many times where the AI just stand there when the ball is in the attacking 3rd.
FIFA has got to get rid of fully-assisted controls. I know Barca is a great possession squad but every pass in the last Pedro sequence was spot on, played right to feet including a falling-back slide-pass from Alves to Xavi to give Barca possession.
I know folks are probably going to say it's at a low difficulty level but it's Real Madrid on D. They aren't going to just let guys with Barca quality waltz into their box.Last edited by KG; 08-20-2010, 11:17 AM.Comment

Re: FIFA Soccer 11 Videos: Gameplay From GamesCom
That was a terrible, terrible ...terrible video.
How many completed passes were there in a row? Like 6-9 per possession, it was crazy. I know it's Barcelona, but still - this means there was zero pressure...let me rephrase, zero "smart" pressure.
I just hope to goodness gracious that it was on the lowest difficulty.
Can someone out there in gamescom PLEASE record one in Legendary.World Class? Also maybe in a different camera mode?
oh, I just thought of the corners...those were terrible - standing trees in the middle of the box, no runs (near post, far post, middle) - just stagnet and the ball is perfectly to a player's head...
Not impressed. But understanding footage is raw...Comment

I hope this gameplay looks the way it does due to low difficulty setting or because 2 people who don't really understand soccer are playing. If not, it seems that the new passing system has nothing noticeably new and isn't preventing "ping-pong" passing and there was no Personality+ that was noticeable either. I watched all of these and Messi features in most of them, yet he looks no different from the other players when dribbling. He is quicker with the ball and looks to have more control, but there is no difference in his body movement and every players movement seems like the 360 degree dribbling is gone.Comment
