    Re: DB's Madden 11 Sliders

    Drew,

Great sliders mate. Just played my 3rd game of my falcons franchise vs saints.

Stats look sound, nothing outragous but i changed one thing which maybe you may consider cos i thought it played very well. I lowered clock to 12min quarters instead of 15mins

    Falcons(me) 27 - 24 Saints (CPU)

    Rushing:

    Turner 21 for 93yrds 1TD
    Thomas 13 for 67yrds

    Passing:

    Ryan 25/38 - 325yrds - 2TD - INT
    Brees 22/32 - 302yrds - 3TD

    Total Plays = 111.

Everything looked right. One mad minute where cpu fumbled on goal line only for me to fumble right back on the next play. (yes the scored after that).

It played realistically, the odd big play, but not cheesy or buggy momment just good plays called.

Have to say that feel sorry for all you guys who try to make these sliders cos your hampered by that stupid, idiotic, mindreading Qb's who throw the ball just before getting sacked. As you can see by brees figures, the falcons are not great at pass def but stopped him by getting to him 7/8 times making him throw it away. NOT ONE SACK!!

Not your fault drew, its the silly awr rating that is making the top QB almost un-sackable.

But once again mate great sliders, enjoyable, non cheesy and still made you concentrate against top offense.

Re : The game length, the actual time isn't that important, it's more the number of plays. I rarely snap the ball on OFF with more than a few ticks on the play clock, so that's why full 15 min qrts work for me. I just like the TOP to add up to 60:00

12,13,14 or 15 min qrts may work better for others like yourself. Whatever gets you around 120 or so plays per game on average. Higher Completion Rates will also mean less plays, as the clock stops less often.

You're pretty much right on the top QBs and sacks, even though you can sometimes get a coverage sack or my favorite, call a play when the FS or SS is blitzing, switch control to him as the cpu gets to the LOS, and start sprinting (I have auto-sprint off) to one side of the Oline. Hopefully you time it right, and fly past the OT already at full speed and get a free lane to the QB. When it works, it's a thing of beauty

oh dear oh dear oh dear.

These sliders are so right that im going stop playing untill there is a patch cos its depressing. It just plays so right but you get done over by stupid QB cannot take it if you rush properly and go to sack him.

        Just played the 49ers.

Alex Smith robo QB threw an 80yrd bomb WHILST! fallen backwards during a sack on the 1st play of the game

He throws for 450 yrds. when i repeat when has he done that.

I haven't seen any receivers break a tackle yet in two games. Turner tends to cause me some problems, but he's a back that should be able to do that.

If it happens to you every game then I'd be concerned, but you have to keep in mind that some times the impossible does happen. Some games I get pressure (my last game I had 3 sacks) and other games I get nothing. That's how the NFL cookie crumbles though.

I'll be up in the morning trying to get a couple more games in.

              Re: DB's Madden 11 Sliders

Played my third game this morning and had a pretty good result. One thing I did change was my game time. I went from 15 min with accelerated clock at 20 second run off to 7 min with no accelerated clock. I was reading in another thread that turning it off would help with the CPU hiking the ball so fast. Yeah, not so much. I still barely had any time to make adjustments on defense.

The running game on both sides was pretty bad all game until I broke a 70 yard run in the 4th quarter. My running stats would have been much worse. All in all the game felt pretty good and while I did win by a good bit, there were a couple of freak plays in there like a fumble down on their 10 that got me ahead a bit.

Won't have time for another game until probably tomorrow night.

Strange because that's almost identical to what happened to me with Matt Ryan. He blew me up the first game and then I shut him down the second. Third game he did OK but they were using a lot of 4 and 5 receiver sets so I was giving up a lot of short yardage plays underneath while protecting the deep ball.

                  Thanks for the reports guys

The time I thought I'd have for testing today has disappeared, and I'm out on a longish trip tomorrow. Weekend will be good to get more testing in though, but no tweaks from me until late Sat at earliest.

I am going to play against the Eagles at least 1 more time probably 2.

Then I will play 3 against the Saints to see if there is a big difference as well.

Any team suggestions for my next 5 games after I'm done with Bears/Falcons?

I was thinking of going with an unbalanced match up this time. Maybe something like Rams and Cowboys? See what kind of offense I can get with a bad team against a top notch defense.

I was thinking of going with an unbalanced match up this time. Maybe something like Rams and Cowboys? See what kind of offense I can get with a bad team against a top notch defense.
That would be a good one.

I am going to play the Saints next to see if they can muster more offense.

I am sure theywill be fine with the pass, cpu running game is more of a cocern at this point.

Played Rams (me) v. Cards on these settings, and think that DB is really onto something.I am an average player at best, and many of the sets Ive seen on here are just too hard for me. Didnt collect stats, but the game play felt real and no absurd numbers. I got burned a few times, casue I made errors an dthe Rams suck, but it was great game, that I actually ended up winning with a TD pass as time ran down, 31-28.

Just played the one, but I think these sliders may be for me. Thanks for your work and for sharing the results!

Hey and how do you guys get that nice Game stats table (that has an NCAA heading)?

Now this is probably just me but i am experiencing wierd games.

                              What i mea by this...

Established QB (ie brees, Big ben, manning) sensible stats, the odd big game but good alround play with reastic scorelines.

Average to poor QB's (sorry no offense mean't here just not calibur of above, like Alex Smith and Derrick Anderson) sick 400+ yrd passing games.

Now is there a cheeky sub programming that gives the weaker Qb's a boost if the sliders are not working for them right or maybe is it just complete fluke.

Going to try and play a few more but it was just interesting thats all

                                ===================

My sliders aren't that tough atm, and this is partly because I haven't touched the game since Tuesday. I aim to make a good base for a decent player, which will provide accurate stats, and hopefully good games. They can then tweak away from there onwards.

I'm getting all work out of the way atm, so hopefully can spend a lot of time this weekend, and next week on Madden and sliders. Should be around later on today if anyone has questions.
