Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
After playing both extensively I have to say Madden plays a better game on the field notably no excessive fumbles and no superhuman linebackers swatting down passes 20 ft. in the air. It's a shame the Madden's franchise mode is a snoozer.Tags: None -
Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
The swatting issue I've never had a problem with. Sure, I've had my fair share of passes batted down, but it was because I was making bad decisions. I played QB in HS and let me tell you that if you step up in the pocket and throw line drives over the middle, they will get swatted on a regular basis.
I won't buy Madden this year... I am sure it's decent but for EA to say they weren't touching franchise this year was enough for me. -

Exaggerate much?

NCAA is my football game this year. I really like the recruiting system this year. In addition, NCAA has better player models this year..Comment

Just wait, in a couple more weeks the Madden boards will be full of complaints and posts about glaring flaws just like NCAA's has been several times so far.Originally posted by Kaiser Wilhelmthere should not be ties occurring in the NFL except when neither team wins the game.Comment

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
Both games have excessive LBs jumping and knocking balls out of the air. The way that the LBs do it instantly is what is BS. Sure, my lob over the middle MAY be able to be tippe by an LB, but by the time, IRL, the LB gathered enough power to jump high enough, the ball is already over his head. In both games, you throw the ball, the LB sees it and jumps at just the right height and just the right amount of time to get it. Hell, I've had LBs one hand catch passes doing this crap.
Sorry, but its not a bad decision to throw a quick bullet 30 yards down the field just because the LB is spying. Technically, since the LBs can jump so high so instantly, you can say its a bad decision. But football wise, its not.Comment

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
It's called hyperbole. Ok, so I exaggerated and they only jump 19 ft. high.
I can't place my finger on it but it goes beyond the fumbles and the jet pack linebackers. I think the new locomotion engine is more pronounced in Madden than NCAA. I just like the way the game feels and I'm also able to generate more of a pass rush with my down linemen.
I still can't give up NCAA 11 though it's just that I'm not playing it exclusively like I thought I would.Last edited by speedkills; 08-21-2010, 04:54 AM.Comment

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
I have to disagree a bit. Though Madden has a few things going for it; with the help of versuz2, there had to be an extreme slider change adjustments to get it to play well.
Now, NCAA 11 for me plays great on default All-American and I don't have to make any adjustments.
I enjoy both, but I was a little shocked that in Madden defense went the way of the "dodo".Comment

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
I have both games also, and there is no way that I can say Madden is the better game this year. NCAA does have it's problems, like all fb games before it, and I am sure after it as well.
I have played no perfect football game, ever, not even 2k5(but it was damn close) and I don't expect any dev to make a perfect fb game. But as far as immersion and a sense of me feeling like I am actually in a certain atmosphere, NCAA hands down give me that experience.
I understand to some, the little things matter and you have that right to state that. But I can over look little gripes to have a very enjoyable fb game like NCAA. I love this game.Comment

Yawn to another complaining thread. Research some sliders and the game is the best ever produced.Comment

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
I've played a few games of Madden, and it's almost as if the team has taken a step back and to the side. They had something going for them last year, but this year the game is missing something. Or maybe not... they added stuff that doesn't need to be in there to make the game more "fan friendly." All stuff like gameflow did was make the game more tedious and frustrating.
NCAA does have problems, and I think that the swats at the line are a bit much, but it does play a great game of football. Madden just doesn't cut the mustard.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Madden is Ruining NCAA for me
Query, what is this Madden you speak of?Jordan Mychal Lemos
@crypticjordan
Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

I look at it this way, do the negatives out weigh the positives? Heck no, there are tons of positives that out weigh the negatives(in my opinion) so I tend to focus on the positives instead of complaining about things.Comment
