    Stop over the middle

I've never been burned like this in previous Madden games.
No matter what defense I use, opponent will burn me every time on over the middle posts or drags. Mostly deep post by TE tho. WR sometimes too. Just anything going up then into the middle.
What can I do to stop this? It is killing me! Plz help guys.

    Re: Stop over the middle

What position do you play on D? I find if you call Cover 1 Man, Cover 1 Robber, it helps with the short and medium stuff over the middle since you have a defender playing hook zone in the middle of the field. In covering deep passes over the middle, try playing as the FS. They're normally in deep zone coverage over the middle.

If you're still having trouble with short and medium passes over the middle, try calling a short/medium zone (lots of hook zone coverages) and call your SS up into the box. Having all of those defenders will help against short/medium passes.

As someone who's been out of the game since Madden '05, I would also appreciate a response to this. Playing online, this guy burned me every 3rd and 4th down with a deep route over the middle. I tried deep zone, blitzes, man-to-man - nothing worked.

manually move a player to stop it thats the only true way
cause the way players play zone is that they dont play the wr in the zone they just play the zone

Yeah cover 1 using the fs is the easiest way to stop it. Also the routes are so deep that a quick overload blitz should get some good pressure
