I must be really bad... I never have earned a strategy point

how do you get strategy points? I can get skill and sportsmanship and whatnot but strategy I never gain a point. What do I need to do to gain those points?

setup plays, preplay focusing on the pass and getting a sack or pick, stuff like that.

Run commit and pass commit on defense.

3rd and 6, pass commit and get a stop.
(Played the pass) will pop up.

didnt know that either. wow. I hate committing. I was playing some dude online and he just kept run committing to the wide side. by the second quarter., I would just PA to that side and murder his corners. Good show.

I had never got a strategy point either, but did some committing, and it does work.

Noob question I could probably get from the manual, but how exactly do you run or pass commit (Xbox)? I tried holding the left trigger and then hitting up or down on the right stick, but nothing happened that I could tell. I had somebody racking up strategy points on me like crazy doing it so it was driving me nuts that I couldn't do it.

In addition to the run/pass commits and setup plays that've also been mentioned, you also get strategy points for some gameplanning. IE. get an INT with aggressive pass defense = strategy. Force a stripped fumble with aggressive stripping = strategy. etc.

I also get no strategy points as I don't use aggressive gameplanning (because, while it's much toned down from '10, it's still cheesy IMO), I don't run commit and I'll only occasionally pass commit on 3rd and longs.
