Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
Like NFL Head Coach, I think this would be better for both Franchise and Super Star mode. This way they will be able to focus on both independently, making them both a much deeper experience im sure. My guess is that EA does not want to put the effort in a separate game for SS mode and it not sale. But they can market SS mode as a whole new type of football experience, that will maybe bring in new players if done right. Im thinking along the lines of a football RPG/SIM's type game, I think it could sell on it's own.47Yes0%11No0%36Tags: None -
Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
So basically there would be 3 Madden games: one for SS mode, one for Franchise, and one for Exhibition? That's a terrible idea. All of EA's other titles have been able to step it up and have gameplay improvements while making career mode good, so I don't think that we should hold Madden to a different standard because they don't want to work as hard.
Plus, the separation of game modes into separate games would just be an excuse for EA to charge you $120-180 for Madden instead of $60. -
Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
Superstar Mode was plenty deep in later editions last-gen, and it's not fundamentally different from Madden like NFL Head Coach was.
At its core, Superstar Mode is still Madden. NFL Head Coach would never have worked as a gamemode, and Superstar Mode would never work as a game. An entire game based only on controlling one player and playing through a career..? Especially when all of the other major sports games have this as a gamemode, free of charge? It'd never work.Comment

And besides, I'm not interested in having them add fluff like buying things with your money or giving interviews. I'd rather keep the focus on the football.
The biggest thing I'd like them to add is more in-depth practices during the week, with game film review, specific plays based on what you need to improve, and drills.Comment

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
from my understandin' ... the devs have enough disc space to add more features to each mode ... but they would like more memory ...
they did say they were gonna look at improvin' superstar mode and franchise mode .. for madden 12 .. but no promises ..
i hope they do because that's what i like to play ... and if they don't improve those modes ... i might as well keep playin' madden 10 ...

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
Im saying keep franchise mode in Madden, it would be better for franchise mode because they could focus on just that, instead of focusing on both modes to be released at the same time, they could work on both of them separately, therefore they would be able to put more of an effort into each mode. It would be sweet if they could make SS mode like rpg/SIM's type game.Comment

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
havin' superstar mode as an rpg would be SWEET ... goin' to the combine or holdin' a pro day ...
puttin' my face in the game via EA's gameface technology...
go to the draft or watchin' it at home with your friends and family .. and gettin' that call from your coach that they picked you... and goin' up and puttin' your team's cap on .. and shakin' roger goodell's hand and posin' for pictures with your team's jersey (assumin' you got invited to the draft) ...
goin' to OTA's, Minicamps and Training Camps...
fightin' for a startin' role in preseason ...
holdin' out of training camp for more money ...
buyin' a nice lil' bachelor pad when you sign your first contract ...
havin' a trophy case to put all your awards and game balls...
goin' in the locker room before games to hear your coach's pep talk ... goin' in the locker room at halftime to hear your coach's halftime adjustments .. and after the game to get chewed out if we lost or to get a game ball if we won...
gettin' traded to a new team..
signin' with a new team via free agency ...
buyin' a big ol' mansion.. with my new contract ....
goin' to super bowls and pro bowls ...
retirin' and seein' a bust of my player enshrined in the hall of fame ..Comment

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
At this point is no because no one would really take the time to buy it. I think it is fine where it is on madden. The madden crew is going to redo SS mode and Franchise mode over the next year or 2. But SS having it's own game will not happen because it really makes no sense to have it.Comment

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
EA needs to make Superstar mode like NBA/MLB 2K10s MyPlayer (minus the Glitches).
I hate how you can be a 70 overall RB, and start over Chris Johnson/AP/whatever. We should have to fight for a starting spot, not just automatically start.Comment

Not sure why this idea is so common. No, it should not .

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
This game mode could be huge, especially tied in with NCAA's Road to Glory.
Teams will have you workout based on interest level.
Playable drills in workouts, maybe some teams are looking for different skills.
Draft day Cutscenes with some of the real players in thier suits. show #1 pick with commish whoever it is.
Negotiation of contracts. choice of agent.
Every Player in the NFL has a position coach
should be graded through training camp, and pre season games on key position skills to determine roster spot.
thats all for now.Comment

Re: Should Super Star mode be it's own seperate game?
it isnt a terrible idea, its just not a practical one.
i think we would be better off if there was a player lock option in franchise. that way, you could chose to control just one player (even have the 1st person cam on) & let the CPU do everything else (gm stuff). the other stuff superstar mode added (like cribs, emails, movie deals, HOF mode etc) added very little to the experience. all the important stuff (like training, gameplanning, position battles, free agency & trades) should be part of franchise mode & thus would be included in the player lock option.this band is pretty cool. u should check them out: http://www.myspace.com/revolutionofthedeadComment
