    The Gulf Coast Conference (Fictional)

    Gulf Coast Conference v2.04
To download these on XBox360, search gamertag: Pogo Pogo Pogo

Welcome to the Gulf Coast Conference (GCC)! I've created 12 teambuilder teams along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico to have fun playing in a custom, fictional conference. Some of the schools are completely fictional, some of the schools are real schools without football teams, and some of the schools have football teams, they simply are not D1. Feel free to download all, none, or some of the teams. However, the idea is to download all teams, substitute them in, and then put them all into Conference USA to play a fun dynasty as the Gulf Coast Conference.

Below is a list of the teams along with the link to their teambuilder page as well as some of the basic information about the school to save you some of the time of clicking the link. Also, I've listed the team I suggest swapping the teambuilder team for. If you follow my suggestions for all 12 schools, then the rivals I list for each school should match up.

If you view a school, please rate it. Thanks!

Here is the step-by-step conference alignment and team swap walkthrough:
    1. Swap ECU from C-USA East for Tulane in C-USA West.
    2. Swap Mid Tenn State from Sun Belt to C-USA West for SMU.
    3. Swap UL Lafeyette from Sun Belt to C-USA West for Tulsa.
    4. Swap UL Monroe from Sun Belt to C-USA West for UTEP.
    5. Swap Arkansas State from Sun Belt to C-USA East for Marshall.
    6. Swap FIU from Sun Belt to C-USA East for Memphis.
    7. Swap Florida Atlanta from Sun Belt to C-USA East for Tulane.
    8. Swap Troy from Sun Belt to C-USA East for UCF.

    9. Import Alabama GCU to C-USA East for Troy.
    10. Import Biloxi to C-USA East for Southern Miss.
    11. Import East Texas to C-USA West for Houston.
    12. Import Florida GCU to C-USA East for Arkansas State.
    13. Import Galveston to C-USA West for Rice.
    14. Import Louisiana GCU to C-USA West for UL Lafeyette.
    15. Import Mississippi GCU to C-USA West for ECU.
    16. Import Mobile to C-USA East for UAB.
    17. Import New Orleans to C-USA West for UL Monroe.

    19. Import Texas GCU to C-USA West for Mid Tenn State.
    20. Import West Florida to C-USA East for Florida Atlantic.

When this has all been done correctly, you should end up with the following conferences/divisions.

C-USA West (Gulf Coast Conference West):
    East Texas
    Galveston
    Louisiana GCU
    Mississippi GCU
    New Orleans
    Texas Gulf Coast

C-USA East (Gulf Coast Conference East):
    Alabama GCU
    Biloxi
    Florida GCU
    Mobile
    Tampa
    West Florida

    Sun Belt (Conference USA):
    Marshall
    Memphis
    North Texas
    SMU
    Tulane
    Tulsa
    UCF
    UTEP
    Western Kentucky

[Turns out, rivalries don't work as nice as they should and changing conferences changes rivals for TB teams. You can still follow these steps to get conference set up nice, but rivals won't work right. Guess it's okay though, because the game doesn't seem to keep track of rivalry records for TB teams.]

Suggestions, comments, constructive criticism, and complements are all welcome.

Re: The Gulf Coast Conference (Fictional)

I noticed on the LGCU jerseys you used the the double outline for the numbers and colored the outer outline color to match the jersey.

If you want the numbers to have an outline without the space between it and the number, use the "1 outline" option. On the site there's a gap but in game, there is no gap. The devs said the change was made so the site matches up with the game but instead they go it backwards; been like that since before NCAA10 was released.

If you keep it the way it is, the away jersey numbers will have a noticeable white outline that doesn't blend.

Thanks for pointing that out. I changed that on the LGCU uniforms, and a few others for which I did the same thing.

I also went through and made sure there's a good variety of stadiums and rosters. I'm using the list here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2041353951 to make sure the stadiums are fairly generic looking.

I'm going to be updating the original post with all this information.

Re: The Gulf Coast Conference (Fictional)

I've just finished the final team for the 9-team Gulf Coast Conference (to replace the Sun Belt).

I'm going to take a break on making teams for a short while, but eventually, I'll be adding 3-more teams so that a 12-team Gulf Coast Conference.

One of the three teams I'll be added will be Mississippi Gulf Coast University, located in Gulfport, MS, though I haven't decided on a mascot, school colors, etc. so suggestions are welcome.

Also, the only thing I know about the last two teams is that one will be in Florida (on Florida's gulf coast side), and the other will be in Texas (on the coast).

For the Florida team, I'm thinking maybe University of Pensacola Suns (or maybe Golden Suns).

Anyway, I'm completely open to suggestions. Also, please give me some feedback on the 9 teams I've completed so far.

If you want to use a real school, you could use West Florida University. I think that school is located in Pensacola.

Also a small suggestion, I would change the helmet logo for FGCU to the logo you have on the chest portion of the jersey. It would look a lot better that way.

West Florida would indeed be a cool school to use. They are located in Pensacola. They don't currently have a football team.

What they do have is a cool logo and mascot, IMO. Argos is a pronounceable name, too

It's the University of West Florida, though, for the record. UWF, not WFU.

Also, if you need help picking a mascot, download the list of pronounceable names and scroll through it. It helps a lot because there are so many names. It's easy to get inspired.

For example, I just scrolled to a random point and the page includes such gems as Steeds, Stone Crabs, Stormtroopers, Strike Force, Submarines, and Stunnaz. Some would be legitimately awesome mascots, some are just goofy.

I created a fictional team called Pensacola State for the PS3. My psn name is placekicker. I used UAB's logo. They are called the Fire. They might fit in with your league.

Re: The Gulf Coast Conference (Fictional)

All right, so I've played an entire season of dynasty mode with this league.

I'm going to be making some tweaks to the uniforms to change some things I don't like (FGCU's helmets is at the top of the list).

Once I make the tweaks I want, I'll look at making up to 3 new teams. West Florida sounds like a good idea, particularly if it's a real school with a real mascot but no football team.

I'll also be creating Mississippi Gulf Coast. Suggestions are welcome for mascots. I'm thinking Mudcats (I believe that's on the pronounceable list).

For the third team, all I know is that it will be in Texas. Suggestions are welcome for school and mascot names.

As for FGCU's helmets...the chest logo would be cool on the helmet, however the uphill/downhill text becomes a problem...the logo looks right on one side of the helmet, but on the other side, it runs uphill (or the letters are backwards). I think I'm going to cut all the text off the helmet.

                      Gulf Coast Conference v1.01

FGCU - Edited secondary (and helmet) logo to the Eagle head without text. Edited alternate helmet. Edited primary and alternate pants.

UNO - Got rid of the ridiculous blue turf, edited endzone colors. Added "UNO" to chest text on home, away, home alt, and away alt jerseys.

TGCU - Slightly edited alt-logo. Flopped primary/alt colors. Edited alternate helmet. Minor tweaks to jerseys and pants.

Tampa - Edited helmets. Too many white helmets in the conference...

LGCU - Edited alternate/helmet logo. Edited helmets, jerseys, pants.

                        Work in progress:

Mississippi Gulf Coast University Mariners [MGCU], Biloxi, Mississippi

                        Roster template: UAB
Stadium: Biloxi Stadium (BYU, 64,045) (shared with Biloxi)
                        Colors: Orange
                        Rivals: Biloxi, possibly others...

I'll also be doing West Florida Argos, and an undecided Texas team (which will use purple as the primary color).

I'll also be changing the substitute teams. I am expanding to 12, but in the interest of some rivalry math, I'll be substituting partially for Sun Belt teams and partially for C-USA teams (while the 12 teams will all be put into C-USA).

The 12 teams substituted will be:
Arkansas State, ECU, FIU, Florida Atlantic, Houston, Middle Tennessee, Rice, Southern Miss, Troy, UAB, UL Lafeyette, & UL Monroe

The C-USA will turn into the GCC (though I haven't decided whether the divisional split will be geographic at all--if so, Biloxi & MGCU have to end up in different divisions), while the new Sun Belt Conference will consist of Marshall, Memphis, North Texas, SMU, Tulane, Tulsa, UCF, UTEP, and Western Kentucky.

I'm also likely going to be editing roster templates for balance and perhaps tweaking recruiting pitches.

But first, I am working on UWF.

                          East Texas Panthers

I know have 12 schools created. I'll be updating the original post shortly for info on all the teams as well as who needs to replace who, etc. As far as divisions are concerned in the C-USA shell, I suggest the following:

                          West:
                          East Texas
                          Texas Gulf Coast
                          Galveston
                          Louisiana GCU
                          New Orleans
                          Mississippi GCU

                          East:
                          Biloxi
                          Mobile
                          Alabama GCU
                          West Florida
                          Tampa
                          Florida GCU

Doing this will create a new looking Sun Belt Conference, consisting of the following:

                          Marshall
                          Memphis
                          North Texas
                          SMU
                          Tulane
                          Tulsa
                          UCF
                          UTEP
                          Western Kentucky

Original post updated to version 2.0

All 12 teams are now available.

Version 2.01 will be coming shortly, which will change the prestige ratings of the teams, making a few 3-stars, but mostly 2-stars. 2.01 will also include a proofread of the program settings (recruiting pitches, playbooks, tendencies, etc.)

v2.01 done. Updated prestige ratings for all schools.

I'm now working to update the coaching tendencies based on chia51's data found here: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...g-sliders.html

v2.02 is done. Updated coaching tendencies...and gave all the coaches names. They're mostly real coaches or coordinators or position coaches. Some of them are far more recognizable names than others.
