Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
I played this many years ago and from what I remember, I liked it alot. I've been very frustrated with 2K on the PS2 for the past few years. What features did it have? In game saves? Did it have a manage mode? I think I may still have it in the basement. I will look for it tonight. -

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
My favorite thing about this game was you could make the whole league fictional players. I love doing that, you see new stars, new dominant pitchers and so on. I love to play with mlb'ers, but I also love living in my own reality, and this game was able to provide that perfectly.Comment

Pfft. Too new. WSB96 for Genesis was where it was at.
8-8 with 8 HR's with Andres Gallaraga. That's realism.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
This reminds me of a game me and my old roommate played on N64 AllStar Baseball 2001. We did the allstar game as the same team, he did the pitching and I did most of the hitting. We put up over 100 runs through 6 innings drunk as skunks. I even remember waking up in the morning on the couch with controller still in hand.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
The one thing that stands out in my mind about 2K3 was that game had the best looking Home-Runs!

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
Does anyone still fire this up? I did today when I read this thread and remember how fun franchise was. I liked how you can tinker with all the coaches attributes to reflect your playing style. It was a pretty good experience overall.Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
I'll play a game in my completely fantasy league where I play as the cubs on occasion. Tom Raines, according to my scout could be the best first baseman in the league, is a beast. I will say one thing about this game, I have a lot of fun playing it. I can't comment on how realistic the game is(haven't played it in a while and really don't care to weigh the pros and cons), but I have fun playing it(just like 2k10 is a lot of fun).Comment

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
Yup, I just try to have a good time when I'm playing games now. There's still stuff that will bother me, but as long as I can still enjoy it I can look past it. I'm like you too where I will still post my complaints on the board, and when I do that I do it in hope that a dev will see it(I posted all my compaints on the 2k board too all in one post if they look over there). I wish I would've known that 2k fixed the drafted players freeze in franchise in the patch because I really loved 2k10 despite it's flaws. But when they released the patch notes without it on there I traded it in the next day, and I read in the patch impressions thread it was fixed. I will never understand why it wasn't on the list

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
LOL, found a franchise saved that I never finished. Am 23-26 with the Reds and am 7 GB from the Cubbies. Shawn Green leads the league with 16 HR and Vinny Castilla has 60 RBI's. I love how the Scouts give you info on ETA for prospects, if their expendable, etc. I may try and finish at least 1 season (eventually).Angels= 2025 World Series Champions!!Comment

Re: World Series Baseball 2K3
Hey, fellas,
Ok, I'm still in PS2 land, so I don't know how many of you still care, but here goes.
WSB 2K3 is a better baseball game for PS2, at least, than anything they've put out since 2K4. I've tried 2K6, 7, 8, and 10 and they are all the same. Hitting is somewhat challenging, but the CPU has absolutely no offense besides hitting home runs. I sat down and got a couple of games in with WSB tonight and was pretty impressed. Huge difference in the OF size and the speed and play of outfielders leads to more scoring opportunities. Infielders DON'T get to every grounder. Pitchers aren't all gold glovers. I lost both games 7-0 and 8-2 playing on All Star level. And I did not allow a home run. The AI was smart and made good baserunning decisions and I got hammered when I made bad pitches. And the ball didn't always go where I wanted it to. The pitching reminded me a little of HH and The Show where it doesn't always hit where it's supposed to go. As opposed to the newer versions where the pitch always hits the exact spot you pick. the variability on pitching in WSB is way better than today's version. The sliders do what they are supposed to do and you can tell the difference between levels. you don't have to edit all the players to fix rocket arms or to help with stolen bases. There aren't many sliders, but the ones included do have a noticeable effect. It doesn't have a manage mode or a sim feature, but in game saves are there. I don't know how long i'll be playing this, but I had a good time with it. It's seven years old and to me, blows away all the new 2K baseball games. Not saying anything about the 360 or PS3 versions, and I realize I'm one of the last still using a PS2. But all in all, this game deserves the high ranking. Still doesn't beat HH, but i'll tell you, it's a real solid game of baseball and if any of you guys get the chance, throw it in the old PS2 and give it a look. You may be pretty surprised.
