re: Grand Theft Auto V
San Diego has a crime rate rivaled by most nice suburbs.I would still like to see something in the San Diego area. It might be a bias thing, but it's just a great city. Not really known for crime stuff, but they can create a story out of it. Like I said, a Pride and Glory story would be cool. A multi-generational police family coupes an investigation where four cops in the precinct were killed in a drug bust, and we can play the Ed Norton type character who discovers more about internal police corruption and must stand up against it.
Most of the "sandbox" stuff has you running around undercover, that way you would still be chased by cops and crap.Comment

Re: Grand Theft Auto V
Yea put they have to be realistic with one way streets and pot holes. On the story front, I'm interested in something along the lines of normal person with dark family ties is thrust into the world he's been rejecting his whole life. Like the college grad who finally "made it" has his whole family killed, loses his job for some such reason.
Would make the whole tutorial part of the game more believable than having some experienced person like Niko who already knows how to fire a gun, jack a car, and so on.
And as a New Orleans native, a New Orleans based GTA would be sweet. We have a lot of elevated expressways which are just ripe for some grand set piece.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
Of Course Rockstar is researching Hollywood, they are Creating a game outside of GTA there: LA Noir. No way Rockstar would be so careless as to give hints about where the next city will be, they are always the first to break the story with a single picture.dont kow if anyone posted the link yet but a place I watch for any updates is: http://www.gtav.net/ they have most of the rumors and forums so If new info hits anywhere I assume itll be there first. If it is LA though, I really hope it is not just Los Santos but all of San Andreas. The City sizes in SA were Perfect, every city felt big and had its own feel. Going back to one city in SA would be a step back imo.
I think we are either going back to SA or Vice City. A new City would probably be New Orleans. It would be pretty cool if the broke the story down in three phases:
1:Before the Disaster
2: During

re: Grand Theft Auto V
I think the game should take place in Brazil...so much atmosphere and a wealth of ideas to pull from.
From the favelas, to the drug trade, to beautiful women and glamour, and some kind Carnivale theme. I think it could be pulled off nicely.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
Only problem with that is you need to make it unrealistic and have everyone in Brazil speak English or trust your audience enough to put up with a LOT of subtitles.
Neither of which I think Rockstar would want to do.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
GTA works for a few reasons, one of those reasons is that it is a Satire of the American Culture. Rockstar is not going to F with something that works, GTA will be based on an American city.My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
That's what they've done for every gang thus far.
Do you really think the Italian mafia and Asian, Latin, and Eastern European gangs all speak English? Even the black dialect is more Law and Order than anything someone has said in the last 10 years.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
All of those games, with those people, took place in America. The proposed idea was to have the game take place in Brazil.
If the idea had been a Brazilian cartel in America, your point would be valid and very true.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
I know that.
However they've already either translated all of the language or used generic, 1990s slang in the previous games (and RDR). I don't see why they would suddenly have to do the game in Portuguese if it was set in Brazil.Comment

re: Grand Theft Auto V
LA Noire has been in development for years, and they wouldn't really be scouting out the location for that game at this point. It's possible they're doing it an updated San Andreas, as Hollywood is like a few streets and a sign on a hill.Comment
