Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
Question - When Tayshaun warped into West to create the tip-in alteration, was that a pre-canned animation or just a fast warp jump? It looked exactly like the Live 10 animations during blocking and contesting, it was frustrating because if you hit shoot next to a defender, even if they didnt jump you would be put into the animation.
You guys should make sure unless the user has jumped into the way of the shooter or dunker that they dont get sucked into a canned-mation.
It was not a two player animation at all.
I have played the game a lot this year, and this is the first time I've seen two putback attempts in a row under the basket.
I'm glad Connor posted it it. Very cool to see.Comment

I can say with 100% certainty that there is no warping going on here in this video. Whoever was controlling Tayshaun would have pressed up on the right stick to leave the ground.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
after watching the clip many many times, i don't see any warping but i do see a force field effect. if you pause around 16 seconds exactly when the contact is made you can see that there is space between tayshaun and okafor. reanimator, has this been fixed? or am i just seeing things wrong.
thanks
There definitely seems to be a gap between them when collision is detected. Not sure if the camera angle makes it look bigger than it is, but it is there.
I think I know what's causing that...not sure if it's been fixed or not but it is something that was discussed before I left and I'm pretty sure I know what needs to be done to fix it.
Thanks.Comment

Clearly you havent been keeping up with that game because thats not the case. Showing notjing? Theres been a ton of info that has been released about the other game. Stop beong so ignorant and maybe have a read through it. Besides, 2k wouldnt even have to show anything But even still, millions of people would still buy it because of jordan and All the other classic teams so your attempt to sway people is invalid.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
in all honesty, each year 2k talks about improvements they made and the game ends up being the same as the last year but with a 1000 more animations. and looking at the gameplay videos that have been released it seems they did the same thing this year. talk is cheap and 2k knows this. that is why they release so many blogs, b/c they know people eat it up. also, the reason 2k can show more videos is b/c 2k11 is much more similar to 2k10 than nba elite 11 is to nba live 10. and by the way, the 2k11 engine is a port from the last gen 2k games while the nba live engine was built from the ground up on the new generation systems. that is why there has been more growing pains for the nba live series.
and please you guys keep the 2k talk out of this thread... its enough alreadyComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
. when mike wang was on the nba live team he admitted that the 2k game is stagnant because the engine is ported from the last gen systems and therefore is outdated. he also said he was sick of having to adjust sliders to get the game to play sim because the engine just didn't have the capability to play a true sim game.
get it?Comment
