Re: Elite quick clip # 6
I feel the same. The in-air collision in that clip seems wrong. If Prince was a strong player, then it would make sense. But Okafor, being the bigger and stronger of the two with forward momentum, should have at least moved Prince a little bit.
...we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
I never said any of this.obviously you didn't read my post. i said that the nba live engine was built from the ground up for the next gen consoles, not the nba elite engine. please read my comment next time
. when mike wang was on the nba live team he admitted that the 2k game is stagnant because the engine is ported from the last gen systems and therefore is outdated. he also said he was sick of having to adjust sliders to get the game to play sim because the engine just didn't have the capability to play a true sim game.
get it?Comment

Re: Elite quick clip # 6
it all looks very weird this year with ELITE 11. They collision animations dont look fluid and it seem the players start to spasm instead of moving individual body parts. not comparing this to 2k but it doesnt look good at all. i know this is the first year with these mechanics but they need greatly improve next year. Good that they dont have 2 player animations but all thats needed is a way to branch out of them instead of being left helpless to the CPUs will. I hope this series will improve more next yearComment

Re: Elite quick clip # 6
see, but the thing is, this is very easily fixable. in one of the short clips they showed that they can alter the strength and weight setting of players in a matter of seconds to make it so that a guy will dunk on a defensive player very easily, or make it so a guy can't dunk on the defensive player at all. so all they would have to do is make prince have less power or okafor more power. once again, just saying it's an easy fix and i think that simply looking at the collision for what it was (not taking who the players were into consideration) it looked great. i bet they could even change the strength settings in a DNA update so i don't think this is going to be a problem.

Calling the big boy out will get you banned. Even if you are right. He was talking (mike) about 2k getting too stale, he never trashed it, he just performed a business move.Comment

just to quote my original post:
"obviously you didn't read my post. i said that the nba live engine was built from the ground up for the next gen consoles, not the nba elite engine. please read my comment next time . when mike wang was on the nba live team he admitted that the 2k game is stagnant because the engine is ported from the last gen systems and therefore is outdated. he also said he was sick of having to adjust sliders to get the game to play sim because the engine just didn't have the capability to play a true sim game."
i never said in the original post that he trashed 2k. all i did was repeat what he said and he comes in claiming he didn't say it, so of course i'm going to annoyed.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Video: Quick Clip #6
ok this is what i found in like 5 minutes.
http://2ksports.com/forums/showthrea...=206142&page=2
read post #20. the actual interview was taken down by espn, but post #20 quotes wang saying 2k masks its problems with animations because IT IS A PORT.
"Mike Wang: And I wouldn't say that we're not doing new stuff, as there are some exciting innovations in this year's title, but we're really focused on the fundamentals and getting things right. One of the things I always struggled with at 2K was when we were porting up from old gen to now, it's still just a port, and 2K has been covering up a lot of those problems with new animations.
Mike Wang: At 2K, a lot of it is just window-dressing, a lot of it is just animations, and that's stuff we're already starting to do, collecting more data on that end, and Live is going to surpass that pretty easily. And the under-the-hood stuff with Synergy, that's what is pretty huge and it's something we could never do at 2K"
so so far he did say some part of what i said...hmmmmmmm

I just hope that doesnt become to the new "thing" to say in the community for games implementing new functions.
