Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
I don't think 2k will go Physics based unless Elite kills them in sales, which is definitely not gonna happen this year. They're not gonna overhaul anything while they have the momentum they have now. Maybe on the next gen consoles you'll see them rebuild and go physics based.The whole physics engine thing is the way of the future for NBA games, but I reckon Elite won't need ANY basketball knowledge at all in order to succeed, whereas with 2K11 the more basketball knowledge you have the better you will be at it.
Elite will be smooth and polished but for what it is, which isn't a real life basketball simulation game, but is just a basketball game. 2K will eventually step up to a physics based engine but they have the necessary basketball knowledge to implement into the game in order for it to take actual basketball skill and not just gaming skill to play.
That's what I think the difference between the two games will be this year. 2K = Real Life Basketball Simulation,
Elite = Basketball GAMEComment

And where the hell is this realistic physics in the 'Picture 007' video at 2:05 when the player with the ball just flicked his wrist at the defender and he went flying!! That is unforgivable and especially as PHYSICS is meant to be the main feature of the game! Shocking.Comment

Help me out people please..... Am I missing something? This game looks just as good as 2K and seems to flow better. But maybe it's just me.Comment

Yeah, lets not be ridiculous and count the game out before the demo....I have my doubts, concerns, issues etc, but until I get the feel of the game in my hands....I have to reserve judgement....this could end up being a great bball sim!
On the other extreme....can the excuses stop for that Boozer dunk? its ridiculous and should be ridiculed accordingly...hopefully the devs can catch this and address it before release..Comment

If you want to try something new in the basketball genre I think you will like it. In past years I would say Live was an option to 2K, but now its more like an alternative.
Two completely different ways to play the game of basketball.Comment

will def be trying both. though judging by ya'lls impressions of the controls, it's going to be even more of a chore going back and forth between the two than last year

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
I try them both every year. The demo with Dwight and company was wonderful. I didn't buy the game new, but I did get it used. It was the first time I bought a live game since the early 2000's. This year, I really had planned on buying it new, because I knew it had to get better. I really can't wait to try out this demo.
Its crazy. I'm going to try both demos but for very different reasons.
I'm definitely buying FIFA 11 and NBA 2k11, now Live and Pro Evo will have to duke it out for that last $ 60 bucks. They'd better be lucky there's no more College Hoops.Last edited by elprez98; 08-29-2010, 07:56 PM.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

I hope it is as well, because everyones jump shot looked the same. I didn't see boozer or fish shoot the ball over their head like they do in real life, and Pau's jump shot looked just like Nash'.
Nvm, just re-watched the first video and you see that Ray Allen has his signature jump shot.Last edited by RayDog253; 08-29-2010, 07:57 PM.Comment
