Man I just cannot go a game without throwing a pick

No matter how hard I try, no matter how safe I make my throws.

I just tried to throw a screen and it bounced off the back of the RB's head (why didn't he turn?) and into the hands of the SS who was on a blitz.

And the SS grabbed it like instantaneously out of the air despite not being in a position to do so.

And I thought I got picked off a lot in Madden 08...

I have trouble going games without throwing a pick too, I've had D-linemen pick me before despite them being engaged with a blocker when my errant throw(that was made while being hit) just landed in their hands while they were trying to get free from the blocker.

I don't count the no lookers that CB's and Safeties make sometimes.

Sometimes I DO make a bad choice while passing and get it picked off but most of the time I have nice throws though. I've been throwing 20 picks a season since I can remember.

Madden 08 was really the last time I had 20-pick seasons (hell I had 30 ones), Madden 09 and 10 were seemingly okay (I'd get close but never over) but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna throw over 20 this year.

Funny you posted too cause I'm using the Panthers! And video!

It literally happens so fast you can barely see it. But Mikell ends up with the ball.

I'm the same way. And I'm like you, I make safe throws, but I can't tell you how many times the ball has bounced out of a wide open Michael Crabtree's hands on a drag route (cuz Michael Crabtree totally drops wide open passes on drag routes... ) and into a defender's hands.

It's as if I'm having a game without any picks, the CPU will be sure to make sure I end up throwing a pick.

Or fumbling 5 times over the course of a game

That...actually happened to me in that game.

That pick was the first play of the 4th quarter and then I proceeded to fumble 4 times (despite protecting the ball) while trying to run the clock out.

Re: Man I just cannot go a game without throwing a pick

Well in my online franchise In the end of the 1st year I threw 46 TD and 24 picks. I remember 1 game where I had 5 TD's and 0 picks. Then the next I threw 5 picks and 2 TD's.
Im now in my 2nd year and so far I have 4 TD's and 4 picks. I played 2 games so far(1-1).
1st year Tom Brady was starter(fantasy draft)
2nd year Micheal Vick is starter(traded Brady to give Vick a shot) and I know what u mean about Crabtree dropping passes. He was my number 2 WR in the 1st year but traded him in my 2nd year for Santonio Holmes since Crabtree rating raised to a 89

I just don't see how, on any difficulty setting, Michael Crabtree can be among the league leaders in drops.

I know right. We play on All-Pro. (Im not the comissionair other wise it'll be on All-Madden) But either way he drops way too many passes that I got sick of it

IMO all WRs drop too many passes period in this game. Steve Smith averages like 2 a game.

Re: Man I just cannot go a game without throwing a pick

Easy solution - develop ur run game first. That will setup gaps around the field. In the first couple of plays, identify ur opponents main defense schemes. If he does more zone or man. With this u will choose what types of passes throw. Thats the most important part, just use what the defense gives you. Another biggie is to determine your opponents skill to see if you should play all or nothing or conservitive. Ise your first 5 offensive plays to figure this out. If he calls a play and does absolutely nothing to it, chances are hes a bad to average player. If everytime you set a play and you see his D-line shift, players move etc. Chances are youre playing with someone who knows what hes doing. Also what team do you use thats a big thing also if your using a player like josh freeman compared to drew brees. When you know his defense, you know his weaknesses and what most madden players have is 1 gameplan for a game and run the same types of plays offensively(spelt wrong ) and defensively. Always have some back up plans. Any way if you know hes a man coverage guy, run plays like slants. If he does zone, see if its cover 3s or 2s and you'll destroy him.

                    My criteria- 19-3. Online franchise week 10 Vince Young(79 accuracy) - 125/136(9 dropped passes) 0int 2007yds .... Along with 800rushing yds for 88att for 17tds

Re: Man I just cannot go a game without throwing a pick

I can't really say anything feels wrong. My first year with the Raiders Jason Campbell threw 12 INTs to 17 TDs which was okay I thought. I let him go to free agency and grabbed Alex Smith. My INTs with Smith jumped considerably which is frustrating but I sort of expected it.

I've never actually played a franchise with an elite QB so usually I throw between 15 and 25 INTs a season. Last year I used a Madden generated QB - I think his name was Robert Cole - I threw 11 TDs and 4 INTs one season. My ground game was money though and I didn't really need to go to the air too often. Either way, lowest amount of INTs or TDs for that matter I've ever thrown in a season.

Using Mike32Ownz sliders no game plan but using game flow on my offline season 2 Broncos chise, I have managed 18 Tds and 0 ints with Tebow. So far my diamond in the rough is Eric Decker with 7 TDs in 8 games. Not exactly sure how I have managed to do this considering that Tebow is only a 79 ovr. There have been some close calls but so far so good (knock on wood).

                            some games i go 4tds 4 picks. others 8 tds 0 picks.

others 1-0. others 1-2. just depends.

                            run the ball more lol.

Well every QB in the NFL throws a pick once a game most of the time. There is no way of protecting agaist throwing a INT unless you throw alot of underneath routes and drag routes or slants. But other then that. When you try to throw down field. The odds of throwing INt increase big time. That's the way it is in real life NFL to. So I really don't see no problem.
