    Off Line Dynasty Player Progression

First, sorry if this has already been addressed.

I have downloaded the patch and installed. Now in Dynasty mode, off line, I am not seeing any in-season player progression. What am I doing wrong? Where is it and how can I get it? Is it gone in '11???

    Help?

    Thanks!

Unfortunately it's not in this years game. Bad Idea I say. Now I have no reasons to get my backups any PT.

I would agree. Dumbest idea ever in NCAA College FB!

Re: Off Line Dynasty Player Progression

No in-season progression is likely due to EA's decision that online dynasty mode should be it's most important. It's all about server crashes and load times, I believe.

If you had in-season progression, you'd have to upload and download all that data on a continuous basis throughout the online dynasty season, so that both you and your opponent have up-to-date data to play with in your game.

Keeping in-season progression out of the game simplifies things for their servers, reduces load time, and possibly helps the crashing, because the files are only uploaded and downloaded once per season, instead of each game per season.

It's the same as the custom playbook omission.

Bottom line: This game has been pruned to the point where it's resembling an arcade game so much, that the realism and strategy are fading away and being replaced by "ncaa for dummies" code.

I wish there was a way to turn on or off these kinds of things when playing offline...

how is everyone saying that there is no offline dynasty player progression, yet when I just finished my first season and recruited, that my team progressed? I noticed some players gained weight, and most of my skill positions and qb's went up 3-5 pts in overall rating? I am completely confused?

I'm glad you touched on that goalieump413, because i know we all here love xbox live and etc but i mean when does it get in the way of the overall game handling because it almost seems its there.

Not sure about you guys but i love custom playbooks, love that there use to be in season progression and FBS schools.

To be honest i could care less about live if they were to bring these elements of the game back.

            just my two cent.

He is saying that there is no in-season player progression, not no progression in general. Yes players do progress at the end of the season but they do not progress during the actual season which is what most people would like to see.

I seriously doubt that is the reason for in-season progression. you have to download/upload after any change in OD(from editing a player, advancing to the next week, changing playbook, etc), with or without in-season progression. you don't upload/download once per season, and your forced to download the OD file after each dynasty week advance. where did you get that idea?

it was likely taken out as players were progressing way too much in past NCAA games, and I guess removing in-season progression was one way to slow it down.

Yeah that makes sense, but given how low some recruits come in, it would have been something good to have this year.

At least with experience, i.e., playing in games, players should at a minimum improve the AWR, which I believe is one of the key attributes of each and every player. Someone else said, they would not play there backups as much, because they improve in season at all. This makes sense! Why not just turn fatigue off and run it like an arcade game, if players aren't even going to become a little bit more game smart during the course of a season. I liked it when you might have a player go down injured and you slot someone else into their position and over the course of four weeks or so, they would become a better player than the one sitting on the bench with an injury.

Bring back in season player progression for Dynasty mode!!!
