That vid really doesn't look all that realistic or great, but I'm still leaning toward buying it instead of the other boring looking hoop game, cuz i need something new. Aslo I'm a control freak and I just have to be in complete control....it is a video game right?

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
Hey guys sorry for the lack of communication...we're finalling the game at the moment and putting in some pretty crazy hours. Novell is working on some high quality user cpu 5v5 video to provide some perspective on a) some of this year's AI changes and b) how the game looks with someone who knows the controls at the helm. The footage has to go through the appropriate channels so I can't give you a date for their release, but I'm watching him record now.
I confirmed that the build is several weeks old - a lot of tuning to the overall visual look of gameplay went in in the last two weeks of the project. That's not to say all issues people are seeing are going to be addressed by any means, but this is definitely a year where you need to get the game in your hands.Comment

Patience is a virtue my man. Just let them capture the gameplay and it'll get here when it gets here. I'm anxious to see the video. Hopefully it's lengthy enough (3 min or more) to analyze thoroughlyMy Teams:
NBA: Miami Heat
NFL: New Orleans Saints
MLB: New York Yankees
SOCCER: Real Madrid/ Man UnitedComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
fatleg what's up Fam. I was a big proponent of live last year pre the patch of doom, But one thing that I kept repeating is that those who have an issue with the game should not be silenced. They should have an equal opportunity to say what they feel is wrong with the game.
It can be a tough thing but most in here are only voicing their frustration because they really wanted to be able to get into the game this year.
I don't know how long you have been gaming ( no insult here I really don't know) but some of us have been waiting a very very very long time for live to get their stuff together.
Along those lines this is a LEAST their 3rd attempt at a 3 year plan. No kidding. So for some of us we have heard this all before. EA has broken more sim gamers hearts on so many occassions they are really going to have to show and prove. Guys are tired of hearing the same old lines with consistently sub par game play.
They have been saying this is a revolution etc etc etc. DId that look revolutionary to you ? No it didn't so people just feel duped again. That's all it is. Now I have been saying and continue to say that until we play it or at least see 2 people who are very good at the game play it you really won't know because of how much control they give the user.
Having said all that the MOd's will take care of the trolls but lets not immediately dismiss negative thoughts about the game as being some sort of 2k conspiracy all the time. Most are here because they are or were excited about the possibilities of what they were talking about.
I refuse to believe they spent all that money and time and what we saw in these videos was what they had in their heads when they said " this is great, this is revolutionary" Can't be.... LOL
Know with that says I know this game is by no means done. Yes it is a work in progress. I will be the first to admit that. I also said this before but i truly think that if they can make the best looking game out their while have the best gameplay also then they would. Do you think they want players dunking from the free throw line, or players sliding across the floor. NO. I am sure they do the best they could with the game engine that they use. I dont think some people understand fully what goes on with the process of making a video game. Its not as simple as making the game look exactly how you want it to and play exactly how you want it to. Their is so much a game engine lets you do.
Even though i wish I did i by no means work for ea but to look at a game before the demo comes out nd basically say it sucks, its stupid, etc is crazy.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
I thought the video made it all better because no one person can jus hop on the sticks and play a good game, the fact that u have to learn the controls and not just press a button makes it a little more realistic, really its all on u to make those highlghts and put together a combination of moves to make it realistic not relying on the computer to make em, u get the satisfaction out of creating something real, but i really feel good that u gotta practice to become an Elite player on the sticks it will be something to enjoy instead of waiting on and relying on the AI to kick in and give u what u want, its like u never have to depend on nobody, but u!!! for everything so i still think its gonna be good game and not everybody will be able to pick it up right away, how it looks nobody gonna pick it up LOL but i guess we gotta wait on the demoComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
EA as a basketball franchise has regressed big time with Elite 11... Why go back to arcade style when they were slowly getting their fans back with the last 2 simulation games... Carlos Boozer from the free throw line? Just explosive garbageLast edited by Dachozen1; 08-30-2010, 08:08 PM.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
There should be so much video on elite because it is kind of a new game. With people on the verge of giving it up ea should have plenty of video out saying hey look at this game and how good it isComment

No one here has been rude toward and if they have they have been banned..I dont see what the problem is if you dont like someone elses opinion read it and move on. People will always have constructive criticism . Its apart of life. Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
Thats what might be the problem. 2k is videos and news is coming out every other day. People know so little about kind of a new game compared to 2k and how good 2k looks. I really dont know to much about marketing techniques but I guess 2k did the better job marketing their game and buliding up the hype for it.

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
These videos don't look to good. The animations still are not right. I was interested in seeing how "no turbo" would effect the speed and realism. Also I was interested in seeing 5 on 5 gameplay to see how RTP would play out. I don't like what I'm see. But I figured it would be chaotic.
That boozer dunk was just bad. He went right through the defender from the FT line. That's crazy. If that's RTP, then I'm disappointed. I'll describe this game as "Organized Chaos with a lot of skating".
I'll try the demo.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
My first impressions of these vids were that the game looks bad.
24 hours later and I've watched them again.......and it looks worse.
I only just noticed the Boozer is the new Doctor J stuff....that's some seriously messed up player "realism" right there.
As Dre has said for years now...we just shouldn't be seeing Andrew Bynumm crossovers and Emeka Okafor draining 20 foot Js.....this series just has no idea about real player tendencies. It's just completely generic.
LIVE 10 was the first time the series has looked to at least be 'getting' on track. These vids suggest it's right off the rails again.
I am tired of paying $60 for this thing based on "next year we'll get it right". I won't be getting it this season unless the demo is exceptional...and that seems very unlikely based on these vids.
Yep, cats out the bag now.My All-time Favourite players is order:
1.Larry Johnson
2.Kevin Garnett
3.Blake Griffin
4.Ben Wallace
5.Shawn KempComment
