This reminds me, I swear I saw Gasol do a super fast euro step..
"I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life
Look behind you, I'm bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I'm fast, dudes can't get past my past
How they supposed to deal with my perfect present?"

That's if you decide to choose a "dunk scenario" by the combination of buttons. Should be tied to jumping and dunking rating. If you choose a layup, you obviously get the specified layups that are already implemented.
I hate to take away the "control" they're preaching, but at some point you have to sacrifice that for realism. If the scenarios are like I proposed above, it helps provide that authenticy that the game lacks and gets rid of these rocket, unrealistic dunks by anyone who chooses to attempt a dunk attempt.
You know man, basketball is a very artistic game in nature and is not without its limits. As I said, if I can do anything with anybody as with some of the stuff I saw, then why not just call the game EA Basketball 11, but I understand the clash in philosophy and
This is exactly why some people will enjoy the game and some people wont buy it.

My point is if Shaq wanted to he could do so(attempt)?. Just like I can pick a player on LIVE 10 get the in bound pass and heave 80 foot attempts at the basket ,but I wouldnt because thats stupid. Same here don't take my ability to do something just because it wont work.

Just curious why would you even want to see that in a game? what exactly does someone attempting to dunk from the ft line with Shaq add to the Game?
Re: NBA Elite 11 Videos and Impressions From the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event
People what is so "unrealistic" about attempting a dunk? I know 3 year-olds that can attempt a dunk.
I dont want Boozer completing a dunk from the FT line anymore than anybody in here. But if a user wants to attempt to I see no reason why he shouldnt be able to.

Same could be said with dribbling. We had the debate while we were at community day about what should happen when big men dribble the ball. Yes, they obviously CAN dribble between their legs, but how often do you see it? It's either slow down the animation and decrease the success of such a move and eventually depending on pressure lose the ball or you allow them to pull off the same types of moves that PGs can do at will. Just because they CAN do it, doesn't mean it's realistic. My whole point is, how often do you see it while you're watching NBA basketball, very rarely. So the game should reflect as much.
Shot attempts are a different story, you CHOOSE to take that shot. That's something that is more in your control, per say. You never see those unless it's a last second shot attempt, but when you see players who never dribble or dunk like that, it seriously adds to the unauthentic nature of a game.

Control. Thats all. Once again I'm not broken up about it one way or the other. I want to attempt any and everything with every player. I just want the outcome of that act to be based on the players size, weight and, ratings.

So in other words EA should add ridiculous animations to the game just so the user can have control...Might as well give the use the ability to fly through the air from foul line to foul line as well

I agree with this point and the last one
We have similar minds on all of this and that the points I've been making
The philosophies of the control pundits though dont want to hear what you're saying... Its all control or not
As I said, the extreme cases are never good on either side, and a balance should be struck from the get go

Which goes to show you some people must not watch NBA basketball AT ALL. Leave ESPN alone and do some research by actually watching a game.

OK. Say Fisher attempts a dunk, realistically what would happen? Would he miss the dunk? Would he re-adjust his shot "attempt" and change into a layup because he realizes he can't get that high, unless on a fast break with no one around? Both things would probably happen, but you'd see the latter, 95% of the time in an NBA game. Just because they attempt a dunk attempt doesn't mean it NEEDS to be a dunk. Go hard to the rim and finish strong with a layup.
IF ANYBODY IS STUPID ENOUGH TO KEEP TRYING CROSS -OVER DRIBBLES WITH SHAQ ...THEN DATS DEY DUMB FAULT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YA SLOPPY ARCADISH GLITCH GAMEPLAY ..... PERIOD!!

Thats a straight up arcade video game, not a sim
You mean to tell me Fisher couldnt even attempt a dunk? And if you take control of Boozer and make him jump from the FT line he shouldnt get anywhere near the rim. It should be like what happens when you take control of a player and make him jump. He should either have to pass or get an up and down violation.
