Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
LOL
Side note: The guys defending it should just get the game and enjoy it. No need to defend every post. Buy it, play it and enjoy it.
Other people who won't be buying it have a right to say why though. For me, LIVE 08 was a complete waste of my $$...as was Live 09...
LIVE 10 was on track and it was genuinely exciting to hear the producers plans for LIVE 11.
Instead...we get a new team, tonnes of basketball stuff completely wrong still...and "new controls" (when the controls were already good).
I know EA moved away from the LIVE 10 team based on bad sales....terrible actually....so i guess a new "strategy" is understandable / calling it "Elite" when it's simply LIVE 11 etc etc.
But i've got a right to say at this point "thanks, but no thanks" and not fork out $60 again this season.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
Anybody who has defended elite has not made any excusses for they things everyone is pointing out that they think is wrong or is sayng anything like show ea some compassion. We are paying 60 dollars of are money also so we want the best game. Most of us will get the game because we like it. Not because we want to show support to ea. Like you said its not 20 dollars. So pleas try and find someone on here that will pay 60 dollars for a game that they think is broke just to support ea who has made millions and millions off of live, fifa, nhl, and even the other genre of games like need for speed and even 007 back in the ps2 days
Lol http://www.vgchartz.com/game.php?id=35378 But live 10 didn't even sell a million copies DumboComment

yes if anyone wants to talk about a game looking like its older versions 2k11 and 10 looks and plays the same. I can just look at the videos from elite and see how much different it plays from 10. Its not about hitting a button and letting it go on time anymore. Its gonna take skill to hit a shot now. Its gonna take skill to drive past a defender not. My little cousin cant just hop on the stick anymore and beat me by shooting 3s with mo williams anymoreComment

Real-time physics
1:10 - Felton is lightly bumped by Jennings. User control is still maintained, unlike previous versions.
2:18 - Salmons bumped by Stoudemire as he goes up for a layup forces a bad (and ugly)layup attempt. Live 10 would have been a long 2-man animation during which you would have no control, but looked better.
2:21 - Maggette slightly bumped by Gallinari or Stoudemire during close shot.
2:30 - Walker collides with Salmons.
2:56 - Chandler deflects pass, ball is loose.
3:00 - Felton physical defense on Jennings.
3:02 - Pass is deflected by Felton or Stoudemire.
3:15-3:17 - Gallinari and Maggette collision during post up scenario. Players are not locked into this position like previous games. Collision during layup.
3:25 - Salmons collision with Walker.
3:44 - Walker collision with Salmons.
4:22-4:27 - Felton is able to move around while protecting the ball from the tight defense of Jennings.
4:30 - Maggette deflects pass.
4:44-4:47 - Gallinari's tight defense stops Maggette's drive attempt.
There is more going on than what I pointed out, of course. Every shot, every player running in to each other while cutting, the collisions during screens, etc.
The real time physics has allowed for much more dynamic style of play. Notice how it looks more like a free flowing game of basketball where you can do what you want and you have the controls to make the decisions you want to make on the court. While in previous versions it was really limited to playing the version of basketball that they wanted you to play.
For what you guys say about last year "looking" better, I do agree. But the moment you picked up the controller, it got so much worse. This year it should be the opposite. It should feel better when you are playing.
I agree with many people that have said the collision animations are bad. Especially the in-air collisions. It just seems like they are too exaggerated.
I think one of the things the developers need to look at is the actual jumping physics. It still looks like they have animations that simulate jumping instead of actual jumping physics. I believe that causes things like the adjusted layup defying gravity, and players that don't bend their knees to jump or seem to get pulled into the air.
The learning curve is actually quite big this year. None of the videos that have been released show you what a skilled player can do. It's all random people who don't know how to play. That's why the videos look bad, except for this one.
I'm glad they slowed the game down.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
The only people on here who should "defend" their game should be the developers because their jobs depend on sales and the game's success. I never understood why we "defend" one game over another. It's like the PS3 vs. 360 debate. We really shouldn't care like that because it's not our product. I was a big Live fan but switched in 2007 because I just didn't like Live's gameplay anymore. But if 2k starts to slip, I would buy Elite if their game was better. Why be fanboys? Just be honest and impartial.Does a cheetah stretch before it chases its prey?

Yessir............Back on topic i think one thing...as the one who posted about real time physics if this is put in the game for presentation then shouldn't the animations for the physics be smooth and look good sense teh layups and dunks within the collisions are predetermined anyway...why if RTP is such a megan feature within the game the animations and transition of animations within behind it don't back it up

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
My bad 23. I was on topic but some of these poster got me off cause they think they are to smart for their on good. I was just trying to say EA sports as a whole company with every game they have made and add them up because that is how you become a multi-million dollar company, has made millions of dollars so nobody is going to buy their games just to support them.
Now back to the video.
I noticed no fouls was called but there was not alot of contact in the video eitherLast edited by fatleg3; 09-02-2010, 03:15 AM.Comment
