Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
@fatleg3, exactly my point... which is why when people play the demo they will say "ahah!" "Eureka!" No more sucked in animations, control over everything and physics to realistically calculate outcomes of collisions and penetrating finishes.
Focus on positives and negatives of what Elite 11 CAN DO and not what it cant do - i.e. 1000 animations, photo-real skin textures and lighting etc.. etc...
Appreciate that most of Live 10 frustrations have been removed...and say thanks.

ThanksComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
I hear people say the users were playing deliberately? Am I missing something, isn't that how most of you 'sim' guys play? I agree the Knicks user especially should have been more uptempo, but they were more focused on showing the game played in a certain manner.
What they did makes perfect sense to me. They wanted to show how the game plays in that style in contrast to the frantic/casual style we saw in the leaked vids.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
Well it kinda does. People decide on their own how much worth a product is to them. I've heard plenty of times that games "would" buy a great game three times or more. Does it make sense, well no, but they would sacrafice 180$ for that single game. In Elites case many people wouldn't sacrafice 60$ which is ok, but that does mean you buy it or not. Because EA decided the work that went into the product is worth that money and concidering how much human work was put into this game it probably is.Basketball Champions League Roster http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ns-league.htmlComment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
I don't understand what you're trying to say ...I don't know why they moved away from this
I thought they were adding to Live 10!?
Imo, the only thing that looks better is the crowd... WTF? I ain't selling Live 10 anytime soon.
Everything you show is still there it will just take MORE skills than pressing a button to perform those moves, is there a problem??Comment

I don't understand your point. If I can wait 2 months and the game is $30-40, I'll still buy it, just not at a $60 price point.Well it kinda does. Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
I get your point but I think they play so deliberately that they actually forgot to exploit the mistakes which not sim at all. Playing Sim (in my opinion) doesn't mean forcing your team to play halfcourt all the time. If I have plays that work against an opponent I will exploit them until he gets it. And, just to be clear. Exploiting in this case (for me, of course) is Sim, as long as the opponent has the tools to do something against it, but doesn't use them due to lack of ability. So if the CPU just doesn't know how to defend some special move of certain play in general it wouldn't be Sim to abuse that, b/c the CPU just doesn't have the tools to do so, so I wouldn't.I hear people say the users were playing deliberately? Exactly. You are totally right, b/c you are waiting 2 months you can buy it at 30 or 40$. BUT you sacrificed 2 months of playing, which means this game is not worth it for you to pay 20 or 30$ more to play it 2 months ahead of others, and not to mention the game is used, which is another point.Basketball Champions League Roster http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ns-league.htmlComment

The court spacing is excellent as usual. That's always been EA's strength.
Post game looks smoother then last year.
Like what I am seeing with the on ball defense..and the ball handler acknowledging your position
Hop step is kind of wonky looking
Atmosphere seems bland, and the game has no life to it whasoever.
On the court, though, there is some very good sim elements that I see...but the game is lacking that "omph".Comment

Flat Commentary and token ESPN integration,Players still moving like hunchbacks 5 years into this generation,Loose Balls that still bounce like the ball is short a couple pounds of air,ZERO differentiation between players or teams
I will echo the sentiments of everyone else, this is not a 60 dollar release. An updated Live 10 was a day one purchase, this however, will not even be considered for purchase until this title has exhausted it's patch cycle for the year.Comment

Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Milwaukee Bucks @ New York Knicks
Watched a few more times, and honestly...I like it.
I think it boils down to a couple of things.
1) IF you didnt like Live 10, you arent going to see anything that will make you conisder giving '11 a shot.
2) If you liked Live 10, I think this game is going to play well, and be a lot of fun, once you get a hang of the control scheme. and learn how and when to do the things we are used to doing.
The commentary is a little blah...I'll concede that.
Even Mark Jackson's "Hands down, man down!" sounded stale.
On the court though, I like what I see from the spacing, playcalling layout, Amare's up and under, collision detection, etc.
Definitely getting the game.Comment
