    Jumpers from the baseline look cool to me for some reason, they look like they are fun to make. The presentation in this game is SEVERELY degraded compared to other offerings, no mascot, cheerleaders are stagnant, refs don't move, fans aren't overly into the game, that said the commentary hurts the game tremendously, man is it dry, no excitement what so ever. Commentary is some of the poorest I've seen in this generation of consoles, just really, really poor! EA obviously didn't have enough time, didn't have the talent, missed the ball - who knows, hard to believe that it looks and plays like this and we are a month from release.

          We all can best believe this game is gonna need numerous patches. As much as I have supported and puchased EA b-ball games in the past my advice for my fellow OS'ers would be to rent this mess. Looks like a beverage coaster at best and this just my take. I truly hope it becomes a decent game but I would be crazy to bet on that

            Re: NBA Elite 11 OS Exclusive Video: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Detroit Pistons

            After reviewing the official videos, I must say that the game does look very clinical and by-the-numbers. Elite 11 doesn't look like as horrible as some are exagerating here, but the game does appear to be a step back from last year's best basketball game, Live 10.

            Changing the default camera from a broadcast perspective to the high camera isn't doing the game any favors when it comes to visuals. One of the best things about Live 10 was the amazing crowd presence as watching and seeing them go nuts made the game feel alive. You can't see much crowd action, and the 180 degree spin effect on the change of possession feels like a relic of b-ball games from yesteryear. The lack of contexual information on presentation overlays is dissapointing too. I want to see stats on runs, player percentages against the opposing team, scoring droughts etc. Where is it?!?

            The commentary had the potential to be great with a three-man booth, but the game sounds like they recorded Jackson, Breen and Van Gundy on separate days, had them read off scripts and pieced it all together. While other games may also follow that methodology, they create an illusion that the guys are actually sitting in a booth, something Elite lacks from watching the videos. I can totally forsee a scenario where Jackson will perpetually be saying "Mama there goes that man" and "Hands down, man down" several times in a game. While it's early, the audio execution doesn't feel like it's telling the story of the game which is obviously the point of a commentary team.

            Regarding in-game graphics...the character models look like a step down in complexity and uniqueness. While the animation has some glimpses of sizzle, way too many quirky things are happening all over the court. You see guys sliding around, warping into position, and many instances of traveling.

            Outside of the ball getting deflected around, there isn't too much going on that shows off the Real Time Physics that's being prominently touted. We get that Elite appears to grow on folks with the sticks in hand, but as a viewer, there's a huge disconnect from what we're seeing and true NBA action. The pace seems good, but it could be a dash quicker. Hopefully that was one of the things that got tuned.

            For many sports gamers, one of the best things about basketball games is signature style. I want players that react and feel like the real thing. Yes EA, you can do both! I want to see Rondo do his fake pass/layup combo in midair. The power and explosiveness of a LeBron James dunk is something that should be exclusive to him. Kobe's perfect footwork in the post should be painstakingly replicated. Sim-ballers can recognize this stuff, and it wouldn't be lost upon us. I don't care how much "control" a physics engine gives me, I need that suspension of disbelief when I play my NBA games. Hopefully the Elite team recognizes this for next year.

            Also, I'm not sure why EA is basically implying that you can't have a game that looks realistic while having full control. Even with Live 10's canned 2-player animations that were toally fixable, I felt very much in control last year with the variety of jumpers and moves I could make. For a game that was rated as high as Live 10 was last year, I simply can't understand why they'd blow it up and start over.

            For the developers or other OS members that have played the game, what makes Elite's shooting mechanic different than the shot stick from 2K? I'm not trying to troll or start a war, but I'm trying to understand what makes Elite's shooting unique. Is the main difference that you're forced to push straight up for accuracy?

            I'll be giving the demo a try like everyone else here, but my expectations are very low. I'm going on a media blackout until the demo.

                `````````` Before 0:07 yes that is TNt opening sports music,..wierd that its on Nba Elite?../
                At 0:09 the players rarely get up high for the ball its a tip off,..battle..yet they hardly get up high
                Following up to 17 seconds are some silky smooth dribble moves followed by a difficult pass to villanueva who does a dunk around two defenders.....never seen that in Real life by him
                At 1:14 this shows what Elite is trying to do,..pay attention to the contact at the pick and roll,..that is hardly real time physics at all the players don't even seem to actaully touch at all in the gameplay th ey sort of go in animations that make it seem like they touch but it just seems so stale like there somethin cheap about the physics right there
                just before 1:48, theres a screen and there an animation as if there touching and the guard is trying to get past him off the pick,...........they ain't touching babe...tahts not real time physics thats animation..
                Didn't know Tashuan prince could dunk on guards like that ..he must be stepping his game up this season
                IT seems like dribbbling the ball is down pack but it dosen't look unique didn't see any real crosssovers and the players dribble animations all look the same..like..they just all look the same to me maybe its me
                Block look more like scripted animations because of the loud noise and how distinct the players get..every block in the nba can't be heared past the second row seats EA
                Saw a bit of sliding but i'll let it slide i mean it happens,..thoughi t shouldn't on a game that begs real time physics or...animations which is what it looks like i'll let it slide
                4:39 wilcox never shoots that close to the hoop like that he's a power forward /center,..there is no real contact when the players go into there shot forms,...it appears as if the only thing that can stop them when they begin to shoot is a block the players don't conform to teh personn guarding them....its as if......THEY AREN"T TOUCHING
                NEver seen kevin durant move like that on the court,..did he just pro hop! into two players and didn't change up his shot? wheres the real time animation--i mean physics
                      That's why it pains me to say that Elite 11 looks absolutely terrible. Even with the NBA Jam pack in, it won't sell at all.
                      I was a big fan of live 10 as well and this clearly looks like a regression imo. The only word i can use to describe the game play we've seen so far is disappointment. Lot's of quirks and bugs, poorly animated and sloppy and not really looking like a 'next gen' sports title should.
                      I appreciate the dev's posting vids etc and will still be all over the demo but seriously it ain't looking good so far.
                        All fair critique.
                        The only thing I wanted to point out is that the ankle breakers happen in response to user input and aren't a direct result of what the dribbler is doing. So it is possible for them to play in odd situations if the user is doing the wrong thing.
                        They happen if you trigger a defensive hop and then change directions too quickly, or if you attempt too many steals while changing direction frantically.
                        So although it's true that it looks odd in this clip, it is as a result of user input which is consistent across the board.
                              But the thing I'm asking is if you can beat a guy (or the AI) and you know that you won't have to deal with an animation or exploits determining the outcome will this stuff be okay?
                              If you are okay with it the dev team made a good decision. If not the dev team may have been wrong in assuming players want total control.
                              Maybe they just want a game that looks great more then anything else. And I'm not saying it cant look great and play great at the same time. What I'm saying is maybe users don't care for total control as much as they say they do.
                              So basically if this style of game isn't going to be fun to you AT ALL then the risk the devs took this year was a failure for you. And if that's the case all the devs can do is hope that a certain percentage of basketball fans like the idea of total control and can have fun with it.
                              This way they can establish some type of fanbase and then hopefully build it up as the game gets more on par with its competition.
                              Great Post. They've put all their eggs into one philosophical basket, deciding that total control is exponentially more important then anything else. So, as you say, we'll now see how many gamers subscribe to that philosophy.
                              I feel like the average online player will love this game. Since everything will be about what they do on the sticks. Winning and losing completely in their hands, just the way they want it.
