if that is the case, i anticipate new patches for both systems. i don't think 360 will get a "better" patch than ps3. hell, i don't even think 360 will get a patch at all!live and get highComment

They are probably looking at the backlash on the ps3 patch and are deciding to put the patch back into the over because it is not even close to being ready then they will release it in 3 months and re-release it for ps3.Comment

Let the conspiracy theories begin. Actually, I think somebody dropped the ball, but we'll never find out the real story. Doesn't matter though, it will come when it comes. Nothing we can do about it.
It pretty sad though, it looks like week 2 of college games will be in the books before I can even start to re-test sliders and then start a dynasty.
Next year, just wait until October when you can find the game at a discount. It will save alot of frustration.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: NCAA Football 11 Patch #3 and Live Tuning Pack 3 Available, Impressions Here (PS3
Except for when people can put backs and tight ends out on simple routes that really ought to be fairly easy to cover, and then defenders flat run the wrong direction for no apparent reason. If the problem is how the game is translating poor man coverage, thats a different debate.
If this is just happening to the defenders who have weak man coverage ratings (based on what I have seen so far, I suspect this is the case), then we are dealing with a animation issue...as opposed to man defense being flawed in general..
From what I have seen so far, the people who are able to play off man coverage and/or press coverage, are doing it. Those who cannot, are getting beat..which is how it should be.
Man coverage seems to work alright with regards to corners matched up on WRs, but in terms of LBs and safeties guarding backs and TEs, it seems awful to me. I get that I shouldn't be able to consistently cover a slot receiver with my LB, but there has to be a better middle ground here. As it is, pretty much all that you have to do is use a spread formation and then throw to a slot receiver or TE who is being guarded by a weak CB or a LB/Safety. Thus the complete dominance of 5 wide.
But really the bigger problem here is that zones are just bad. You essentially HAVE to use the MLB because otherwise he is completely useless and won't make any plays on passes thrown to his area, but other players (deep safeties in particular) also do a poor job. Zones are terrible over the middle from short to deep.Last edited by rhombic21; 09-08-2010, 12:00 PM.Comment

ooh.
I'd like to that I'm a decently smart play caller and I call for it in the right situation. Since the game has came out, I haven't ran a successful read option play... maybe it's just me or somethingComment

I really have to suck on purpose to have a bad YPC average, even on QB designed runs. Lewis from Pitt averages 5-6 yards a carry for me, most of these runs bounced out to the outside.
Something I've been able to do in NCAA 11 compared to any other football game I've played is to call a draw, try the middle, read the blitz/blocker, and bounce it out. Such a great feeling

I ran a successful read option online a couple of weeks ago. It was probably the first time I'd tried it. Cool play. Since then ive tried running it about 5 times and each time got hit for a loss in the backfield before I could do anything...It seems that if the d has anyone in the box, forget about it.Comment

Ya they mentioned earlier that they fixed draws. They pretty much never worked in the past, now there an easy couple of yards for the most part. Not so much that there money, they can be stuffed. I think they did a good job with that.I really have to suck on purpose to have a bad YPC average, even on QB designed runs. That's somewhat realistic in that you want to iso your favorable matchups but LBs need to be more physical in coverage at the line. Not saying they need to play tight press coverage but they need to at least bump the WRs/TEs to try to get them off their route. Way too many clean releases for TEs in this game.Except for when people can put backs and tight ends out on simple routes that really ought to be fairly easy to cover, and then defenders flat run the wrong direction for no apparent reason.

There are still some interesting "money plays", at least against Alabama and other teams. Hopefully the coverage fixes at least help. I got all the way to the title game against them, put up 4 wide with two going deep, two doing crossing routes.
The left slot receiver was always open across the middle for a good 30 yard gain or so.Comment
