Conference Invites in Offline Dynasty

I've always been top tiered schools in the NCAA games, but this year I was thinking about picking a team lower on the totem pole. I was wondering if it's possible to change conferences in your dynasty if your team does well.

I was thinking about starting a Wyoming dynasty but I only want to do it if eventually I can move up the ranks and end up in a BCS conference down the road.

Anyone have experience with picking a smaller school and building them up to get into a higher prestige conference?

I've had one of my teambuilder teams get invited to join the BigTen after an unbeaten season. So it's certainly possible to get a 'mid-major' into the BCS conferences.
