I'm not seeing improvements on the AI side, which has been my biggest problem to date with basketball games. I know its the hardest aspect to get perfect but I wanted to see strides made.

As far as play running is concerned, its been GREAT. But I want each A.I. player to make DECISIONS, not signature moves, but decisions that they would make in real life. I'm not seeing that AT ALL.
Are you talking about backing off of him a couple feet gradually? totally playing 4 on 5 and see what he does?

I'm seeing him shoot the open three more often than not. Other times, fisher may be "doubling" the post, and the post player passes back out to Rondo. Care to explain how you're getting those results

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)

This game is smooth. It appears VC has gotten to a point with this game that the way it looks and moves just speaks for itself. They've released this to us this early because they know they've got a heck of a game this year.

Colors pop. The Lakers arena sounds are spot on. Shooting feels very good. Shot a few fades and up & unders with Fish, Pau, & Kobe, and they all "feel" different. I think in the beginning of this thread may have been Jano who cited how you can really stop and pull up and really be Kobe (this was as my demo was downloading) and I got excited they finally added this. Played it, and yes, you can pull up in momentum, stop and pop, get space and pop up, just smooth as butter man.

Control is, well I wouldn't say "revamped"... you still have that slight delay (though it's not as bad as last year) but they've removed the "wait I pressed this way, why am I now spinning/running out of bounds/weird running" animations and tightened things up a lot. I feel like now, even though it's animation-heavy, I'm always performing what I intended, and that's what I think most were asking 2K for.

Anyone else getting it handed to them by KG with that darned shimmy shake move from the elbow? LOL I feel like Gasol in the '08 Finals how he abusing me right now.

Love how if you throw a crazy pass, there are many "negative" outcomes now. Before there was only a chance maybe it'd be picked off. Now, it has a high probability of being

      A) picked off

      B) thrown off course forcing the recipient to change direction or jump for it, even bobbling it and losing it (I had a beautiful sequence where I tried to throw to Kobe on the right sideline, while running left of the center logo with Fisher: Kobe had to change course to get it, jumped for it, caught it but then bobbled it, and had Rondo swipe it, sweet)

      C) it will just fly into the stands

Been throwing a lot of reckless passes just to see the reactions. Passes to cutters, passes where defenders are in the passing lane, are often picked/deflected. This is good news, especially if the demo is only on Pro.

Actually, it can't possibly be any higher than Pro, because I'm finding it hard to miss (or even graze the rim for that matter) with Kobe if he has even a sliver of space. lol
      NOW PLAYING:
      NBA 2K16, MGS5

      WAITING FOR:
      Fallout 4

Wife: "Of course he's going out to get his 2K game at 12am, like he can't wait til tomorrow."
Wife's mom: "Be grateful that's what he's running out at midnight for."

After playing the demo for a few hours, this game is gonna be amazing, especially on sim game style.

Games slowly becoming a dunk fest. Bynum pulling off some crossover type moves and dunks it home....

with that I shall call it quits on the demo.

I'm incredibly optimistic and thoroughly looking forward to the game. The demo has sold me from what I saw. Continuing to play on PRO/DEFAULT style with no plays does nothing for me now.

Here's my first big question: whenever I do a User Offensive Rebound, it seems like my guy goes for a put back instinctively. Was this covered somewhere? I feel like I need to hold Triangle/Y until my guy touches the ground to hold onto the rebound otherwise things will go wrong and he'll miss his put back. Is this how it works or am I just having bad luck with Artest and Bynum?

                  360
                  • great graphics, real smooth....have depth and body the gives it a realness. Players, refs, and crowd exist in a cohesive world, they fit almost perfectly.
                  • Gameplay is good, much better than the previous 2k10, an 2k9 (purchased but rarely played).
                  • Sense of control is back. Great footplanting on defense especially. The feel of jumpshooting is back! I know when its in there (or should be). And the jumpers are very nice looking.
                  • Still has it's video game moments, but expected....it's a video game. It's funny because my video game self makes poor plays b/c i wasn't expecting the CPU to make the basketball play.

                  PS3
                  • graphics are brighter, which I like. But, areas where the 360 has jaggies the PS3s are more noticeable and takes you out of the world. It's different seeing jags on the backboard and behind the goal vs on the jerseys, numbers, and on players skin where the light reflects. It still looks good, but lacks the depth and smoothness to appear 'real' in there 2k world all the time. But it still looks great. Most of these issues will 'disappear' after playing a while and not looking at or comparing to the 360 version.
                  • The court on PS3 doesn't have reflections at this time. Should be in final though.
                  • players seem faster and more responsive than on 360. I'm a bit more exciting at what I'm doing and seeing when I play on PS3. On 360, i'm a bit disjointed b/c it looks good but doesnt always feel good (possible 360 controller gripe).
                  • All other impressions are the same.

All in all. I'm willing to sacrifice the extra bit of polish on the 360 version for improved PS3 online play b/c I like the DS3 controller best. If the PS3 online lacks again, I will opt for the 360 version.

But the PS3 version will more than likely look better than the demo b/c the lights on court weren't in the game...there may be other graphical touches that hadnt been added at demo time. As we all know, they go on 360 first so the ps3 may be a bit behind the 360 demo build. But, by release date, the gap, graphically, may be a bit less than it is now (we should expect 360 to be a bit better).

Loving the gameplay but they dropped the ball big time on the actual demo. I can understand and live without any commentary, but only being able to use the Lakers, not being able to call plays and the demo only being 1 4 minute quarter blows.

Other than that though, the game itself is great. Feels really smooth, control is good, animations are great of course, defense feels a lot better and the new passing has secretly done the game a big favor in terms of how the game looks and feels now. I wish Rondo wouldn't dunk as much though. I know he has the hops to, but he should really only be dunking when he's all alone on a fast break.

I did a lot of comparisons as well, I have a Sharp Aquos 32 LED both PS3 and 360 hooked up with HDMI 1.3, even though the 360 doesn't really utilize 1.3. The colors are brighter/richer on the PS3, though the anti-aliasing is much more noticeable on the 360, the PS3 has a lot of jagged edges, even on the outline of the players. I agree, the PS3 seems to have a better frame rate and IMO the audio on the PS3 is DTS and sounds a little smoother than the 360. The audio on the 360 is much louder by default for whatever reason.

Amen! Well said good sir! PS3 all day baby
