Somewhat of a small detail, but it's kinda annoying to me how shiny the ball is. That's one of the things they brought over from Live that I don't like. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it.

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
I can't stop playing this demo!
I can't believe how much harder it is to force the ball inside this year- that alone makes this night and day better than 2k10. I also love how you can't run full speed full court and go baseline all day. So awesome...
Every aspect of the game seems like a significant upgrade from last year. I know it's just a 4 minute demo, but it feels like all of my 2k10 gripes have been answered. We are all in for a treat this season.
This isn't even on Sim setting and it already lends itself very well to playing basketball instead of playing video games

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
Wait you can't be the celtics?Loving the gameplay but they dropped the ball big time on the actual demo. I can understand and live without any commentary, but only being able to use the Lakers, not being able to call plays and the demo only being 1 4 minute quarter blows.
Other than that though, the game itself is great. Feels really smooth, control is good, animations are great of course, defense feels a lot better and the new passing has secretly done the game a big favor in terms of how the game looks and feels now. I wish Rondo wouldn't dunk as much though. I know he has the hops to, but he should really only be dunking when he's all alone on a fast break.
Damn should I stop the download now lol

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
1. This is not a PS3 exclusive title. So, that point would be totally irrelevant in this case IF it were true...
2. Which it isn't. You seem to have a slant toward games and system, see things through those goggles of yours. There are some amazing 360 exclusive titles. To say the PS3 have some better looking exclusive titles is one thing. But "far superior"? Please.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
My impressions.
And these come from knowing the game engine very well after editing the game for the past two years...
Negatives (able to edited to some degree):
Dribbling feels the same and looks too fast for some players.
Some players should not be able to make some of the plays I saw get done on me.
Some animations are sped up way to rapidly and the general speed/pace of the game is too fast.
Some player models are bad. Allen, Pierce Kobe all still look a bit off.
Positives:
Much better than NBA 2k10 out the box with no slider adjustments.
Though some things can seem to slide and pivot it's a a much smoother looking game.
The fact that Jordan is in the game after almost 5 years of not being in one makes all the difference in how much I'm awaiting the retail.
All in all. the demo is just too short and not enough to really judge anything by. esp when the full game will have so much in it in features and modes it's almost a no brainier.
It was a must buy before the demo and it's still the same must buy after the demoBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
Just finish playing two games and i like it.
All i have to say is Kobe doing work, 24 on my shirt/its a lake show so dont drown yo lol. Some of you will know where i get this from but maybe cause its on pro but kobe is the man
The ball looks funny. I dosent look real.
If jaggies mean jagged then i can see it on cutscenes and when the ball is not in play
KG does the same post move everytime. he shimmys both ways then does a turnaround. I know thats patent kg but he does the same thing
They have the lakers big man vertical down pack. The hardly get off the grown which is like it is irl. there are just so long so they block shots well
still trying how to do more advanced dribbling moves instead of just the basic crossover
i love getting gasol and flopping cause thats exactly what he does irl
Bu the problem with 2k was always been replay value for me. It just has been the same thing over and over and the game gets boring. Hopefully 2k11 wont be the samething over and over game play wise
on a kg post up a brought bynum over to double him and left joneil under the basket alone to see what would happen. kg was posted with his back to the basket as if he could not see joneil open but when he did his shimmies then went to do his turn around jumper it was as if he saw him open when he turn towards the basket and passed him the ball as he was shooting. That was the best thing i saw
demo is way to short. you cant get into the game because its over before you know it. at least give us a half
I like the loading screen
I can see what everyone says about ps3 being bright and also when the ball is in play the stands seem bright but when you watch the lakers play at home on tv the stands is dark. But when bos was shooting a free throw the way the camera was behind nate robsion on hi free throw it should the nosebleed seats and it was dark
all in all its was a pretty good game. its still to much to do and think about with the controls while trying to think about whats going on with the games at the same time. after playing this demo it will get a serious consideration when i decide which game to get I have to wait for elite and try elite out to which one i like better but 2k definitely did not hurt its chances.Last edited by fatleg3; 09-14-2010, 10:55 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
i did it but didn't record it.. its on an insight for the contrls on the 2k website and someone posted the controls in the thread right here. Its like you use the left trigger and flick the right stick and he'll do it but you have to pull the stick again to make him shoot ya know to do all that full control stuffComment

yeah I can cross this game off my list. after spending more time with it, simply put the game is more frustrating than fun. When it works right, the game is amazing. Sadly the controls and sluggishness prevents it from working right alot. I thought they were redoing isomotion this year? that was lies, it's just as clunky and unresponsive as ever. I guess this year it'll be NBA Jam as I don't feel like updating 2k7 for another year.Comment

Although this is the barest of bones when it comes to demos, some things are self evident, at least to me:
1) The physicality between the players, something I thought was lacking in the video footage we've seen, definitely is improved, not to mention the overall feel of the game. It plays and feels lightyears better than it looked on some of those earlier clips
2) 95% of the halfcourt passes I tried were deflected or intercepted, much to my joy. It also seems that they take the player attempting such a thing into consideration. I was marginally successful with D-Fish, but it was only once or twice, trying that with the bigs will sink the cheesers quite appropriately
3) Overall there's just a level of polish to the gameplay that's already satisfying, I'm salivating for the final product now. 2K10 made me jump ship for a year, if they can make sure all the elements are working "out of the box," this could be the classic they're hyping it up to be....Comment

From what I've played so far, I've come away impressed.
- The shot selection is amazing, momentus shots, just everything.
- Player movement is a lot better, not clunky like last years.
- Presentation was impressive, bringing in the TNT producer really helped and you can see it.
- There's more I could say, but what can I say, I'm going back to the demo.
One last thing, Ray Allen looks a lot better than last year although still a bit weird looking. I'm satisfied with though. I couldn't stand looking at Ray in 2k10.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
What I liked:
- New moves (especially with my man Kobe)
- Seeing the outside of the stadium
- The intro
- MUCH harder to score in paint, which lowers the cheesers.
- Extremely smooth, especially compared to last year.
What I disliked:
- The graphics seemed to drop down from last season.
- When KG is in the post he was unstoppable even when Double-teamed. When he shot it hooked in the post it hit the very top of the backboard.
- Too easy to hit a fade away. Cheeser move.
