Yeah. He's the only person in the world lucky enough to have commentary in the demo.

Probably... But not likely based on the context of what he wrote and how the lack of commentary stood out to everyone with the demo.

He was talking about the game in a much more broader sense from what I gathered. He added the commentary into his general assesment on the game itself not just the demo.

But since the thread is about the demo only it probably confused a lot of people...
This is what he said when I asked him about his "commentary"..

Loving the demo! Though I have a tough time mastering the controls. Haven't played nba2k since 2k9. Much has changed. Very sensitive controls will take a while getting used to. Small detail I did like was, I scored a jumper with KB at the buzzer, you could see him walking past the basket looking up as if he is watching the replay.

That's all I needed to do was play the 2K11 demo. It's improved over 2K10, sure, but still looks and feels eerily similar to the last two 2K releases. It's still in the same shell of a game.

I'm still trying to get this down. You have to do it manually, not like last year, correct?

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)

I think the last post I made in this forum was after Mike Wang came back on board and I had said something about how he could show his skills (and the rest of the dev team) by aiming for the same precision and responsive controls that Live 10 had and that it was that area of the game that had always needed fixing.

Well after playing this demo, I am not convinced. It still feels like your controlling a bunch of bodybuilders out there and to make things worse, the animation simply seems sped up and missing frames (especially on the pump fake).

I guess it is just the engine. There's some things it simply can't do.

I didn't like defending either, where my guy was standing still and without me even pressing a button or direction, he was sucked into a defensive animation and pretty much shadowed the ball handler.

There are a lot of good things, I like how (on PS3) the graphics seem to be anti-aliased better this year (jaggies a lot less noticeable) and the overall frame rate doesn't seem to stutter like 2K10.

The player movement is brilliant too. Guys are fighting off screens, cutting, it all looked great. Something 2K has made huge strides in.

But then you see 'framey' pump fakes, the same ugly passes and a lot of other moves that you can tell are from a mo-cap actor 'performing' rather than actually being captured during an intense scrimmage.

Might be the first year in ages where I play a year old bball game because the 2 new one's simply don't cut it.

Maybe im wrong though, but I doubt someone would make a mistake and speak about the commentary if it was never there to begin with.

I've played a few games now and I love it.

+I couldn't force points in the paint
+for some reason I didn't feel like I was cheating when I used Kobe, i think because the moves look more realistic and smooth.
                            +SMOOTH
                            +contact was much better
+AI was exploiting me when I did something stupid
+looks and feels more like real basketball to me.

                            - I suck at defence, need some kind of defending tutorial!

                              1) Attached Bynum looks old, like really old to me. Maybe it's the shadows on his face. Other people don't think so?
                              2) I hope I'm wrong about seeing too many repeated animations. I think KyotoCarl is probably right that it is only the first quarter. Maybe some animations are even scaled back for the demo (it would go along with the missing commentary, plays, etc)
                              3) No commentary = good commentary for me . I guess as a first post it looked too "troll-y" so the joke was taken wrong and got me flamed a bit but atleast it got my 2 cents in among the 1000+ other posts.

I did enjoy the demo and will definitely keep playing it to get my basketball fix. I guess I'm in the minority that was hoping for a little bit more.
