I need help! (Faceoffs and general tips)
I cannot win a faceoff. Literally I played a guy online last night and he won every single one. I don't know what to do, I know I have to use the right stick and I've tried everything, for some reason I don't understand it!

I wonder if you were the center for the game where my team went 35-for-37 on faceoffs? Haha.I cannot win a faceoff. Literally I played a guy online last night and he won every single one. I really don't have any tips because I always play goalie, but I just thought it was a funny coincidence.
Do you usually use forehand? If so, try backhand and vice versa. And even though the game tells you to move your stick when the ref starts moving his arm, it usually works better for me to wait a second after that until the puck is just about out of his hand instead. -
Re: I need help! (Faceoffs and general tips)
The sooner you establish your grip on the stick (backhand/forehand) the more powerful your swipe at the puck will be so ready up your grip as soon as possible.
Time your movement to occur when the puck falls out of the ref's hand.
If you still have trouble, try pushing the left stick when the puck is dropped and you'll tie up the oppsing center.Comment

Re: I need help! (Faceoffs and general tips)
I just time a slight delay between the ref movement and my back swipe. I also usually have the left stick pulled in the direction I want the puck to go, and the right stick is what I time the swipe. If I find myself having trouble with an opponent, I just tie him up and kick it. I would say 90% of the games, I dominate the faceoffs, I am usually somewhere in the 80-90% faceoff wins in a game. I also have my faceoff skill bumped pretty high. If you combine high faceoff skill and good overall skill at faceoffs, you can be pretty much unstoppable. Too many centers are thinking about faceoffs as an afterthought when they create their character, whereas I made it my #1 priority, winning faceoffs means not only a major offensive edge, but also a great defensive edge as well, especially when you are taking the faceoff on your end.Comment

Dude you're completely right because I played that game I mentioned really well but he dominated me in time of attack because of all the faceoffs he won. He won the game because I couldn't get a faceoff!Comment
