Haven't read through the whole thread, but the delayed reactions are because its just a demo right?"I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life

Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present

I'm with you. 'You can't please everybody' rings true here. It does seem to me that many of the complaints are coming from the PS3 side of things.Comment

The spins do seem more explosive when theres contact. new strategy? make contact then explode. maybeOriginally posted by Sam MarloweThat move at 35 secs off the Ray Allen contact is something I've been trying to pull of for a long time. How do we do it, is it possible to plant and spin more explosively in those kinds of situations?Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
you got it right on the headFor Crimmeny sakes listen to this man.... If you just don't like the game then no problem but if your trying to enjoy it. This is NOT 2k10 with more animations if your playing it like that you will miss the boat.
The ballhandling and defensive reaction is not video game type of controls but it is much better than 2k10 and it is extremely realistic. If I go outside right now and dribble hard in one direction and then change directions you have to slow down first if you don't there will be a weight transfer that is going to slow you down.
As in life there is less of that the slower you are moving. I am almost certain those who are not laying on turbo have the left stick jammed full on in a certain direction... that is the same thing as running full out. Its not necessary.
2k11 is about nuanced movement action and reaction not and one dribbling exhibitions. There is a rhythm to the game of basketball this game mimicks that as closely as any other I have seen. I promise you I can take any one here into a gym and show you that your moves are not as "real time" as you think.
If I am in the gym and the ball is between my hand and the floor guess what ?
Can I change directions ? can I shoot ? can I break contact ?
Think about that for a moment ... then take a deep breath and watch what your doing on the floor.
Play within the rhythm of the game give slight nudges on the stick and see what happens.
Real basketball is about moving the weight of the defender from one side to the other. That is how you get open. As you improve or get more efficient on the offensive side of the ball it matter less and less what move if any you use to do that...
If i had the game and was finished with the 10 teams I would show you. So again if you find this isn't the game for you no problem there is another options that has completely different theory for how they handle control that may suite you. But if your wanted to see what this baby offers please listen to the advice of the people who are having a great time with the game.
Watch Mo's video. look at the balance between offense and defense and how he creates separation.
but my problem is i still cant do a lot of things with the ball. I dont jam the stick in one direction, i dont lay on the turbo, and i only try and do moves to create separation or beat someone of the dribble. I dont try and and1 may way around the defender, or use 3 or 4 different types of isomoves
I gave up on it but people said it takes time so im still trying to get it down but i just cant get it. the more and more i try the more and more i run around the court, or do just a simple left to right crossover, or do a sizeup when i didnt intend to
maybe i need a practice mode with no d in front of me to get it right first, or an absolute relative control scheme
I think i said it in another post on here but what gets me by a defender or creates separation is only because its on pro diff and kobe blows past how ever is guarding him
i know its not about doing this and that with the ball but once again i cant do nothing but a simple left to right or right to left crossover on a consent basis. while that works sometimes i get tired of doing that and want to do something elseComment

You have had the demo for one day, with minimal instruction on the controls. Don't expect to be an expert. There is a learning curve. Practice mode will definitely be beneficial this year. I'd imagine there is a tutorial on the new dribble system as well.you got it right on the head

yea i fully understand that. I also said somewhere on here before that if i choose to get 2k11 i will have to go to practice where im by myself and work on it without worrying about a d or shot clockLast edited by fatleg3; 09-15-2010, 02:17 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Available Now, Impressions and Discussion Here (360,PS3)
While this is a demo, the fact still remains that it's a demo of the game to come. To all the people who say, " it's a demo " for a crutch on why some things are the way they are in the game, don't think things are gonna change drastically when you buy the full game. It's never THAT much different - especially with 2K Sports.Comment

I think all demos should include a mode with you alone in the gym to work on moves and stuff...you got it right on the head

Here is what you do. Work on the sizeups first. Come down on the right side of the floor with the ball in your right hand and only work on holding left trigger and pushing left stick to the right. Then work or breaking out of that at different times... So break out early and go left , early go rignt. then medium and then let it finish....
Then do the same thing but add a cross after you break out by holding left trigger and moving the left stick back to the left after you break out to the right. Build step by step .
By watching the sizeups you get a feel for the rhythm and when is the best time to break out. If you play with that rhythm all the moves will flow seemlessCatch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment
