Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
The new controls are revolutionary for this series. People often complain about things like this when they suck. For all those who dislike the controls, take time to get used to them, then pass judgment if you must. If you still hate them, there is more than one ball game out there. -

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
i like the controls. i dont know about them being "revolutionary" though. a lot of it kinda feels like Live 10, actually
also, dribbling doesn't seem as responsive as i expected. the lack of control just looks better on screen and less glitchy now. i'll still take that over 2K10 thoughLast edited by FreshPrince22; 09-15-2010, 02:31 PM.Comment

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
neither....just an improvement in control...no catchy new name or logic....just a improvement that we hope continues...Comment

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
OP I suggest whenever you make a poll have at least 3 options. I would have included a 3rd option, 'undecided'.
lol, what is that a veiled threat? Seriously though, that's not a legit argument. Other basketball games have nothing to do with this.Last edited by oOausarOo; 09-15-2010, 02:44 PM.Comment

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
Not a 'threat' its a fact. There are people complaining about and upset with the games controls. Instead of complaining(after only ONE day of playing), get better. If you find you can't get better or the controls don't suit you, there is another game whose pitch this year focuses on control. That may be a better look. Very legitimate.Comment

OI'm not going to go any further with this because they don't care for these types of discussions, but I think this is worth saying. I've seen many people state something to the effect, 'like it or go elsewhere'. That is not a legit argument. Not a 'threat' its a fact. If everyone were to take that approach 2k wouldn't get any feedback on how users feel. Personally I agree with your take on the isomotion, but in general people are just giving feedback. I don't feel there's a need to play the, 'take your business elsewhere' card. That's already understood and has nothing to do with the topic. On top of that we both know the competition is looking inferior right now.Last edited by oOausarOo; 09-15-2010, 03:13 PM.Comment

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
I'd agree. It's more evolutionary than revolutionary, they've constantly tinkered/tweaked to improve the control. I think the animation system coupled with the control is borderline revolutionary - don't think we've ever seen such varied animations coupled with control options in a sports game ever. But if another game adopted the control scheme don't think it'd mean much without the animations 2K's great atHBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
I think there's heavy emphasis on playing within the limits/styles of whoever you're controlling. As far as this demo goes, that means the only person you expect significant ball handling and quick responsiveness from would be Kobe. It's too bad you can't use Rondo, that would be a great test.
I would imagine handling with feel much more responsive once the ball is in the hands of a young quick PG...Comment

Re: Are the new Controls bs or Revolutionary
Its not a 'card' that I'm attempting to play and its not an argument. Its a statement with which you are free to disagree. There's a difference between constructive criticism, and complaining for the sake of complaining. Its hard to give constructive criticism regarding the controls when no one here besides Momentus and the devs truly understands them. Therefore, this thread in and of itself is premature. When we all play the actual game and actually learn the new controls, then we can better determine the pluses and minuses of the system.O

Its childish to berate something because you don't understand it. Most of the people complaining about controls are doing so because they don't know how to execute the moves the way they'd like, and that's fine. Very few of us do at this point. But to say the controls suck or to call them 'BS' because you are unable to grasp them and even before you have a chance to give them a legitimate try, makes no sense.
A person who has such an attitude has options... Actually give them a legitimate try, buy the other product or none of the above. I'm missing the 'threat' or 'card' portion of this. The dissatisfaction with the controls thus far seems to be a matter of accessibility. The other product has always been more accessible in the control department.Comment
