Re: Madden NFL 11 Patch 1.02 Available, Details Included
Their slogan lately has been "if you see it on Sundays". Now, you can argue about all the stuff they're missing from that equation, but this is something you see in the NFL during October, so you should see it in Madden. And it's for a great cause. And it's not a political issue, nobody's pro-breast cancer. I have no idea how anybody can hate this. It adds so much authenticity to the game.
I don't see anybody complaining about the pink bats in The Show. In fact, I've seen it praised for it's authenticity.
I see the argument both ways. Its a nice gesture and it is an authentic piece of the NFL. Problem is that if you are going to use "everything you see on Sunday" as a reason for this being in the game. Then game game should play like you see on Sunday as well. And it doesnt. Priorities are not in line correctly in the Madden series.
And by your logic, it seems that this was added to the game because its seen on Sunday in the NFL, not to promote breast cancer awareness. So I think this was added to Madden for the wrong reasons.
There has to be a line drawn somewhere. I have no prob with the BCA thing in Madden. But remember, this is a football video game. The top priority should be making the game playable with as few errors/glitches as possible and making it the best representation of a football game as possible. Things like BCA should be added on once the game is as good as it will get as the games top priority should not be to promote BCA. I know that sounds harsh to some, as the world has became so sensitive.
EDIT: Im playing without the 2nd patch because the gameplay and framerate issue. The game on any speed is completely choppy and glitchy. I fear that the 3rd patch will only make it worse. Im good with how the game was out of the box.Last edited by buckeye02; 09-14-2010, 08:05 PM.PSN: buckeye02Comment

I agree, they need to make this game more realistic in gameplay. How can a game be realistic when you see WR's playing DB and your team has 10 DBs with absolutely no need for a WR playing DB? There are other issues with realism that are far more important than BCA.I see the argument both ways. Its a nice gesture and it is an authentic piece of the NFL. Problem is that if you are going to use "everything you see on Sunday" as a reason for this being in the game. Then game game should play like you see on Sunday as well. And it doesnt. As for comparing The Show to Madden 11, The Show is a better designed game both with gameplay and realism--you would never see a pitcher playing defense or an OF pitching. Yes, there has been that extremely rare situation where in real baseball an OF has pitched--but it is extremely rare.Last edited by JVM; 09-15-2010, 08:09 AM.Comment

Yikes, this patch affects the framerate! I hadn't noticed that, anyone else having that issue?
As far as the BCA pink stuff goes I would turn it off if I had the choice but after playing two October games it's really not a big deal. It's actually pretty well done. (The goal posts aren't pink, just part of the pads on the supports).
But the framerate, say it ain't so...Comment

The framerate is worse now I agree. It was supposed to be improved with the patch. I don't think so..Comment

Hmm. I've never backed out a patch before. In the file mgmt menus I don't see any individual files for patches. And if I delete my Madden 1.02 file and reinstall the game I can't get back to 1.01.
Any hints?Comment

I don't know this for a fact, but I doubt it takes a lot of time and resources to make the players wear pink wristbands and add a new graphic on the score thing.I see the argument both ways. It's not like they stood there and went "Hmm, make the game better or add pretty pink wristbands? Wristbands."Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Madden NFL 11 Patch 1.02 Available, Details Included
There is something just "off" about the patch. It's subtle, but the players just move awkwardly now and I'm seeing stranger animations that don't mesh. I don't know what they did, but they need to fix it. I'm clearing the cache on my 360 and going back to pre-patch days. I finally got a good slider set and was loving the gameplay. This patch did nothing but mess everything up.
I'm hoping the third patch irons out everything.Comment

I feel like with the last two games, M10 and M11, the patches did nothing but mess up the game even more. It just makes me sad.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Patch 1.02 Available, Details Included
Hopefully 1.03...
1) Fixes the issue with all of the big plays. It's too easy to burn the defense. Even in coach mode and cpu vs cpu, I find the average yards per reception is about 17-18. NFL average is more like 11-12. The safeties are typically out of position on long rushes too.
2) Allows us to turn off replays. I am really tired of seeing 3 replays of a harmless incomplete pass and having no way to "X" past it. Games take way too long because of all the replays.Comment

None at all. Using KC and probably half my run plays are pitches because Charles is almost unstoppable on those plays.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Really? Because, I'm using Charles and Jones and they both stop on some toss and pitch plays. Every time...Comment
