mo...in the 4 second mark how do you fake one way then go up for a jumper...is that the momentum spin jumper? for the life of me i cant pull it off......

mo...in the 4 second mark how do you fake one way then go up for a jumper...is that the momentum spin jumper? for the life of me i cant pull it off......

90% sure that's a signature gather... I pulled the move off a bunch of times last night and was popping fadeaways in Ray's face all night. Hit Y when in that area of the floor and see what happens, it worked most of the time -- it appears that the gathers change depending on the area of the court, as Kobe kept hopping back behind the arc when I did the gathers nearer to the perimeter.

I threw one in off the glass too as the quarter buzzer sounded... looked so much like Kobe. Also got his signature under-the-hoop ball fake one-handed spin dunk to trigger and mashed it all over poor JO.

Youve been missing out on alot of great basketball games over the years my friend.

I can tell. I was gonna start up this year and try to get real good at nba elite or whatever it's called these days. But 2k11 looks good, I just hope you, me and everybody shares the same opinion for the most part when it comes out.

I hope I can run with the Knicks like they do in real life and fell like theres a difference in using them as opposed to playing with a team like the Bobcats, a half court team. Obviously my team has to do there part and win some games and not be a basement team in real life for that to translate onto a video game. But I hope I can tell the difference with a Mike D'antoni ran offense, that will make me happy (EVEN IF THEY SUCK) if I can see that distinction in various teams.

I bleed orange and blue, I didnt no you can use old school dudes like that on the game. ( I will check them out) But what i enjoy best is going online and playing against competion, although playing basketball has always been my favorite sport, I might enjoy playing against the computer for once. In madden I waste no time with the computer unless I'm working on money plays. Thats just me tho, I might try it out after reading on these forums and seeing how much fun guys are having with franchises and stuff

Isn't the Y button (triangle on PS3) the hop-step button? To make it become a signature gather, do you need to press the left stick a certain way at a certain area of the court and what's the timing of the shot stick after you press the Y/Triangle button?

I don't actually know how to hop step proper haha. But yeah, you just tap Y and you'll see the gather start -- when he spins back after the fake you can either pumpfake or release the shot as normal.

Gathers are stick dependent. If your stick is neutral you'll get what you see in the video, the little fake spin. If your stick is pointing away you'll get a step back. If your stick is pointing towards the basket you'll pro-hop or get something moving you towards the basket.

They all pick up your dribble so be prepared to shoot or fake.

I know it shoudn't, but that KB pivot fake gather off the dribble is still bothering me. I know he does the bounce in conjuction with it on occasion but more often than not he bounces first then fakes (exactly like Jordan). In the game its all the same motion instead of the one-two step it usually is. As nitpicks go this like pointing out the continuity errors in great movies. I get that.
