The fuss is about the intelligent AI, the smooth movements, the amazing style of play, and the way they captured every player down to the T in terms of playstyle.

@EA, you have to actually make a decent product to earn a profit with your games.

This is clearly a troll or idiot I responded to and I feel really bad for the kid (he can't be older than 12, right?) because he hasn't played a real basketball game yet.

Go back to your board and enjoy dunking with Dwyane Wade over (through) 3 people (YEAH, I SAW THE VIDEO homeboy).
Do you know what an opinion is ? People are entitled to have opinions about the game you hold so dearly. Chill.

          Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Roundtable

Casual fans will always shy away from 2K basketball games due to the complexity of their controls. That has always been a turn off to people and always will be. A lot of casuals are use to spin buttons, crossover buttons, etc.

I have always noticed this when I use to market sports games in Best Buys and Walmarts across the Chicagoland and northwest Indiana area. People will pick up the controller to a 2k NBA game kisok and would say this game looks great. But then they will get frustrated when they can't do spin moves and fancy crossovers.

This will be probably be the first time in 3 years I don't end up buying both EA and 2k. I always end up trading one back in once January comes around.

I agree with almost everything the roundtable has said. Overall, lack of demo or not I like the control upgrade with the improved animations. 2k10 felt as robotic as LIVE did. I'm actually seeing Kobe, Ray Ray, KG, and others play how they actually would in real life.

I believe some fans will flip-flop back and forth either way. This game has taken a huge leap forward from what I've seen an experienced. I also think that EA has done the same, yet I haven't see a whole lot that has blown me away. Either they (EA) have a secret weapon or they are afraid to show how mediocre their game actually is.

Greatest sports DEMO ever (This Month?)...I give you "The Shrug".

                Re: NBA 2K11 Demo Roundtable

I, like Dustin, am completely disappointed in the fact that the demo just does not have much to it. That's a huge disappointment, and no subs, commentators or play calling means we've lost a lot of basketball here. I never understood why giving users the ability to play an entire game was not allowed in these demos. It's not like people who want to buy the game are not going to do so because they can play the Lakers vs. Celtics over and over again at any time.
This perplexes the heck out of me. The fans make 2K basketball the best selling NBA game, we allow them to sign Jordan to reap even more profits. And in return we get an even more stripped down demo than last year.

I mean there has to be some sense of giving back to the people who made you what you are. If anyone at 2K could explain to me what the strategy is behind throwing us a bone with a spec of meat on it is I'm all ears. There's no reason fans didnt deserve at least a 6 minute quarter or two 4 minute quarters. And taking away the core elements of offense and playcalling? Just not called for at this stage of sports gaming.

It doesnt matter, because everyone downloading the demo is most likely going to buy the game. So there was never a reason to begin with to strip it down so much.

                SMH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as for the gameplay. The automatic sticking to your guy on defense or offense after you close in, and if a ball handler runs into you to shoot you get stuck in a blocking motion even though you didnt hit block, is frustrating.

Any one new to 2k that plays this demo comes away saying whats all the fuss about. i bet the ea demo will be much better at showing off there basketball game. @2K you have to make a better first impression
This was a very weird statement. You're not gonna go out and by another basketball game based on the demo being not for two players or two short. The gameplays is still in the demo and that reflects how the game will be played.

If yuo get turned off just cause you can't play two players then you are prioritising the wrong thing about this game.

They give back in releasing a game full of features that we all want on 5 Oct. This is a demo and I don't see the reason for complaining about it.
Sure, would be nice to play more of the game but it's coming in a couple of weeks anyway.

The demo has gotten me even more psyched about the game. Plus, I've gotten to try it out a bit and see how the gameplay feels this year, exactly what a demo should do for you.

What if the demo had been 2 quarters instead, or 6 minutes? Would it have mattered? You can just restart the game again and play another 4 minutes anyway.

This is always the reaction to changes in a series. But the fans of the series trudge on and get used it. We saw that in this forum alone. People hate change, yet they say you're getting "stale" if you don't. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

People don't just judge based on demos. As a matter of fact, few actually do. It's a combination of a lot of things including word of mouth, previews, and marketing. Those college friends have either already made up their minds, or have only just begun to pay attention as the release date approaches.

I love the demo by the way. Same thing every year for me -- I start off thinking it's just ok then I fall in love with it. CAN'T WAIT.
Which is it? If they are casual, then they won't really notice any real change. They'll just look at the lighting and how it all animates, and go from there. In that regard, the demo will only add to the hype. That's IF you believe that the casual person isn't savvy enough to find out what changes are really there...

if you was new to playing b-ball videos game an all you had to make a choice was the two demos( i know ea demo is not out yet). I think 7 out of 10 would pick EAs game. NBA2K is a hard core game (witch i like ) most people dont like hard core (just look at the wii sales) BY leaving the demo bare and really only accessible to people in know . they made it hard on their self to get new customers. now when the game is released then word of mouth can make up for this.

You won't be able to tell until you go online. Then you will find out if people will actually have to shoot jump shots to be competitive. In 2k10 you didn't have to on the 360. O the PS3 online users would actually shoot more jump shots than running into the paint.

I would say the jump shots were too easy to hit on the PS3.

The 360 looked better and was much smoother but the PS3 played a better game of basketball.

you wouldnt believe how many people still by ea's game when 2k is much better. And the demo 2k put out does not help 2k get more people over from ea's game or new people to video game b-ball. the demo is for the hard core players you have to know how to play 2k to enjoy the demo. you give that demo to someone new and they cant do the move and become frustrated. i would love for 2k to kill ea an get NFL2k back
