The only one I bought was the Advisor. It gives you a little boost in recruiting. The rest I don't waste time on.Comment

Don't listen to the cheap-skates! They are worth the money if you consistently play OD. The boosts that they give are subtle, yet helpful. The progression boost helps by a couple of points, which takes the default progression from bad to acceptable. If you recruit a stud, he generally ends up being in the low to mid nineties by the time he is a senior. This is accurate to me.
I never understood why you had to "unlock" the ability to make promises. If you coach Western Kentucky, you can STILL promise a national title or anything else. Doesnt mean you will fulfill it, obviously, but you can promise it if you want. I like this timesaver very much.
For those of you who refute everything I have said, remember, ITS JUST A VIDEO GAME! If you dont like the time savers, dont buy them, allow them in your dynasty, or play in a dynasty that DOES allow them. They really arent that big of a deal, but do offer a little extra to the dynasty experience. I don't think having your homefield advantage boosted through the roof or seeing how much time teams are spending with programs should have been included, though.
So, if you have more than ample income to comfortably afford the ten dollar package, I would definitely do so.Comment

HAH. Use them in Online Dynasty? Come on. Every online dynasty should have those things turned off. Complete cheese to use. That's just ridiculous.
And I'm pretty sure I'm not a cheap-skate when I've put about 25 bucks into NHL 11.North Carolina Tar Heels
Virginia Tech Hokies
Michigan Wolverines
Chicago Bulls
Detroit Tigers
Detroit Red Wings

Re: Are the extra help packages worth it????
The commissioner CONTROLS whether or not timesavers are enabled, which means "in use" (for those without a GED). In the dynasty settings screen in EVERY SINGLE OD, it clearly shows if timesavers are on or not. So......... OF COURSE everyone in the dynasty is aware, or should be, that timesavers are being used??????? And if you're the only one in an OD not using timesavers when everyone else is, thats your fault. Don't participate in an OD if the timesavers are enabled. If the commissioner allows them, it's an assumption of risk that other players will be using them. It's not rocket science fellas! lolLast edited by MDP3656; 09-18-2010, 02:28 PM.Comment

Re: Are the extra help packages worth it????
The one I have found most useful, is the offseason help in retaining players. My first off season with Ohio State I lost every single early player. I purchased the time saver and have not lost a player early since then. Perhaps its a bit unrealistic to not lose any players early, but at the same time its not realistic to lose every single underclassman early as well. Still have to spend 60 minutes on each to keep them, so its not without its costs.Comment
