I am baffled at anyone complaining about the demo or what is included. Not once have I played a live demo and said wow, this feels better than 2k's. This was probably the best basketball demo I have played. You can't look at it as the company failed consumer's by not giving us everything. The purpose of demo is to show improved gameplay which in this case, is evident. I would question anyone that didn't get this game because a playbook wasn't in demo or it wasn't a full game. Be happy we got demo over two weeks earlier than last year.

Sure, would be nice to play more of the game but it's coming in a couple of weeks anyway.

The demo has gotten me even more psyched about the game. Plus, I've gotten to try it out a bit and see how the gameplay feels this year, exactly what a demo should do for you.

What if the demo had been 2 quarters instead, or 6 minutes? Would it have mattered? You can just restart the game again and play another 4 minutes anyway.
I respect your opinion, and disagree.

Go download NHL 11, Fifa 11. Huge sports games. They offer practice and full game, full quarter length play times. Also you can edit options.

Why on Earth does NBA 2K feel so exclusive and special that it needs to provide the tiniest tip of the iceberg in their demo? It gets annoying restarting every 4 minutes. It gets annoying hearing a looping crowd soundtrack. I never play sim basketball without running plays, its annoying I cant do that in the demo.

I was in marketing, it grinds my gears that I know exactly what type of people 2K marketing guys are.

Most of all, it confuses me that other sports games give me demos which have a good amount of replay value to them(like they used to at the turn of the century) and with 2K11 I dont have the patience to reload every 4 minutes like a lot of other people.

Does total control passing and play calling not factor into gameplay for you??

i am a basketball nut and i enjoy playing b-ball sports games. I had no problem with 2k10 last year i accepted that no game will be perferct and innovations is what keep developers in business. with that said i love the complex control system 2k offers allows me to almost exactley imitate the nba basketball. add to that im a avid MJ fan that wanted to experience him on the next generation consoles. so for me this game offers more than whatni want

This demo definitely gave me hope that the gameplay is much improved presentation is great. I just wished it wasn't so stripped down. Many people are disappointed. We want more @ least 2 min. more with either 2 player (with choose sides/teams), commentary or iso-motion. But regardless i'm greatfull for the demo.

You're real spoiled mjjr....go download all of the past nba2k demos...they have always been 1 quarter and 4 minute games and I can tell you now its going to be like this next year...so don't act like 2k owes you anything as they have just been doing the same thing for years now...

NBA2K is a hard core game (witch i like ) most people dont like hard core (just look at the wii sales) BY leaving the demo bare and really only accessible to people in know . they made it hard on their self to get new customers. now when the game is released then word of mouth can make up for this.
And how many people are going to be NEW to these games? Come on. The only people that would be new are the one's enticed by the fact that Jordan will be in 2K or that Jam is in Elite honestly. So their choice is ALREADY made. Your reasoning makes no sense man. If you think people will be turned off because they can't play a 2 player game - knowing that will NOT be the case in the final version - why would they make a final decision based on something that's not permanent.

"Superstars play like superstars. Kobe is a beast in these four minutes."

Superstars in the hands of the gamer have always played like superstars. Even journeymen in the hands of gamers have played like superstars. The two real questions are:

                  - Will CPU controlled superstars play like superstars? Garnett is hard to stop in the demo, but I'd have liked to see the Lakers and Kobe under CPU control.

                  - Will gamers still be able to put up monster games with lesser players, or even role players?

I think you're over-stating things. The last time I looked, 2K was outselling EA 4 to 1. We're talking about a series in EA that has been around and beloved for more than 15 years. Yet, this "hard core" and "hard to get into" game from 2K was outselling it. And Live 10 was, in my opinion, THE BEST version of Live since 95. So I think you're extrapolating the reaction to the demo quite a bit.

I don't think you need to be "hardcore" to want to play 2K. You just have to love the game of basketball and stick with it. Once you get in, chances are you'll get hooked even more. Again, look at the reactions here. Rough start to a much smoother finish. Now, some folks are even MORE sure they want the game.

EXACTLY. I think people are trying to make this a MUCH bigger deal than it actually is. Yes, it SUCKS that you can't call plays when the play call system was one of the bigger upgrades! But, like I said, if Jessica (oh baby...), told me that all of it could be mine in 3 weeks... </shudder!> I'd be PISSED for 3 weeks, but boy would it be worth the wait...

Ray Allen gets schooled, but I noticed, when you go at him, he some how comes right back, the cpu will run plays for Allen, as if it's War between the two

Overall 2k shot their self in the foot with this one . Any one new to 2k that plays this demo comes away saying whats all the fuss about. i bet the ea demo will be much better at showing off there basketball game. @2K you have to make a better first impression
dude really? "anyone new to 2k"?? really? anyone whoever played virtual hoops, ea or 2k etc. would know that this is the real deal!! and this is only "a demo"! we dont need fanboys here. what we need is real Virtual hoops players!
