Yes and no. There has always been the feel of delay in controlling 2K basketball because a lot of the animations are long and slow. It seems like you can branch out of these animations but only if you do the correct move. At least this year we can break out or branch some of them. I always countered it by turning the game speed and player speed up in the options. It's my biggest pet peeve of the game, probably my only one. You see that wide open player, then all of a sudden some long collision animation happens to the ball handler, the pass button does not work when you press it since the current animation has to finish, allowing the defense to recover. I have found that "less is more" when using the controls in 2K bball games. Basically, slow down a little bit, strategize and think about what you want to do.

The demo is so limited I find it hard to enjoy sometimes, almost torturing. All one can really do is play one on one, pick and roll, or let your cpu teammates try to get open(which can look weird at times). I was playing off ball for a moment, I have no idea how I did it. I think you use the playcall control LB/L1 and hold the face button of the player you want to control.

Some of the new animations don't match the previous ones. They look a lot slower in many cases. During jumping animations, it looks like they are floating or being pulled and held up by strings. Hard to describe.

There is a lack of contextual direction change which causes defenders to jump past players when trying to contest shots. Probably just something new with the momentum system that I will have to get used to. Watching those defenders playing defense against nothing but air looks pretty bad, though.

Love the cpu AI. Long upcourt passes are intercepted, they take their time trying to find good shots. I have been burned many times by giving up too much space or taking too much away. Although, watching Kevin Garnett size me up off the dribble near the perimeter looks a bit awkward.

CPU help defense is much better, I can no longer drive and dish or spam the pick and roll when I really need a basket.

This one play, Rondo stole a bad pass at half court. One on one against myself controlling Derek Fisher, I pressed down on the right stick because I am used to absolute right stick defensive controls rather than camera relative. Derek does a defensive hop to the left just as Rondo crosses over to the right. As Rondo is going into his gather to dunk it, he looks back at Derek Fisher.
